...I'm thinking about stepping up. Two questions?
First, can I use the 615 accessories with the TG50? I've got the travel kit, UCB Sync/Power cord and a 9V emergency charge cord. Will these accessories work with the TG50?
Second, any chance the battery life is better. My 615 drains realy fast, even when I'm not using it.

Well, I have never used a T615, but I can say unfettered that the Battery life of the TG50 is amazing. I beleive you have to use it for a bit for it to give you longer uptime, I don't know, call it exercising the battery or what. In another post, someone (forgot, who, haha sorry) explained how a Li Ion battery drains, and how it stays at 100% for a little while and then begins to discharge. Let me say that it stays at 100% for a long freaking time. The other night, I was playing MP3s, and playing Prison (An Arkanoid Clone) and the batt level stayed up at 100% for around an hour. (This was with the Screen brightness set to like 20%, and BT off)

I've upgraded from a T625C to TG50/U and yes, you can use all your accessories. And yes, I think the battery life is better ;-) Sometimes I miss my old T615: less plastic and more robust. But I have to say, that the TG50 is an amazing device...

BTW: first I was somehow shocked: Only 11 MB free and lots of stupid software you can not get rid off. And I had a lot of fatal alerts. But now I figured how what's running and what's not. I use PowerRun to store Netfront and other apps on the MS and I've got almost 6 MB free internal ram and the TG50 runs like a charm now (Only minor problems with McPhling)...
Now I can watch jpg taken with my Cybershot in seconds with superb colors. I can watch whole movies (converted from dvd or divx) and listen to mp3s wherever I am. Surfing the web and writing SMS via BT and dialing from the adressbook or DateBK... Yeah, it's a great improvement ;-)

Wait wait wait, explain what you did with PowerRun? I thought you start with 11 mB free RAM anyway?

Hmmm,
no Powerrun does not free some extra bytes but it helps saving some of the internal ram by moving programs to the MS. I am using it for storing Netfront on the MS. At least I don't know another way to store Netfront there. In that way I have about 3 MB more internal ram left for other purposes. And I use Powerrun to store Handyshopper on the MS. Using Powerrun I can store my huge HS iconset on the MS too. That would not be possible without Powerrun...

I've already done the same upgrade and yes to all your questions. Battery life is great surprisingly, although there are two enhancements I use that might help this: AutoDimmer (name speaks for itself) and I use BTToggle to turn off Bluetooth quite quickly, easily and sometimes automatically.

also upgraded from T615 to TG50.
if you use BT Toggle, you will definitely see better battery life. but, if you leave bluetooth on, the batterry'll drain more quickly (though not necessarily faster than the T615).

...thanks for the post swinter. One quick question. One of the most annoying aspects of the 615 was that even if I didn't use it the battery would drain quickly. I turned off anything I could find that would drain battery (alarms, background programs, etc.)
If you just leave your TG-50 alone, roughly, how long will the battery last?

Well that settles it for me.
I've had my T615 for almost a year, and I am completely sold on the TG50 for the bluetooth alone, the keyboard and improved battery life just seals the deal.
For the longest time i thought that the t615 battery sucked becuz i took it off the initial charge 30 minutes early, cause it said it was fully charged, then i found out they all suck, and last merely a day or two.
Anyone with a TG50 used the Visor Edge? That had great battery life, it would last about a week on one charge with regular use. btw, i had a Visor Edge before it mets its doom with a floor and cracked the screen, I discovered the next morning.

Never had that problem with my T615. Sounds like yours may have been defective. In any event, the T615 battery was short-lived.
I haven't really tested the TG50 that way - I leave it in the cradle each night and bring a travel charger when I am out-of-town. But, I did fly to the West Coast the other week and used the TG50 on the flight. I definitely noted substantially longer battery life: When I go off the plane in Oregon, it was still at 65%. (With the T615, I would have had the battery charger out for sure.)
One thing I have noted though is that heavy bluetooth usage (I use it a lot to check email and do some websurfing when I travel) does drain the battery much, much quicker.
BTW, I was skeptical about the keyboard but after a few weeks now I am definitely a convert. Only design flaw is that they should have a numbers lock key (like cap lock, why not?)

Just press the blue key + caps lock ;)

Tnx, that helps. but a two-key operation is still inferior to a one key num lock . . .
