Although I can connect my Clie NX70 to a wireless LAN at Starbucks, I cannot access web pages. After some discussion with tech support at T-Mobile I was told that their system does not handle Palm OS devices for WEB browsing because they dont support "clipping" type browsers.

I assume this means that NetFront v3.0 on my Clie is a "clipping" type browser? If so, is there a different browser I can purchase that is closer to a true web browser (possibly one that someone knows will work in the T-Mobile system?)

If this question is covered in a previous post please give me some direction to find it.

Thanks

I have had the same difficulty, one that caused me to not purchase any more time with T-mobile. Did you log-in on the page which appeared on NetFront after connecting? If you have purchased minutes, you should be able to log in. Then, surfing is *technically* possible. I had to have the cust. service person on the phone while I logged in. I surfed for about 15 minutes just fine. Then logged off, tried to log back on after wireless connection made, couldn't, and just didn't want to bother with calling tech support again. This issue was brought up a while back, but I never read anything positive about T-mobile afterwards.

Anybody with a better report, please speak up!

No, NetFront is not a web clipping application (in fact I don't think Clipper works on OS5 machines). It is a "regular" browser. I haven't had any problems with T-mobile/Starbucks _except_ that it won't allow you to re-login after a disconnection. I'm guessing this is due to some "time out" value in their system, so just make sure not to hit the Disconnect button in NetFront (which I seem to do with amazing regularity <g>)
