I like to dance in the pale moonlight...
seriously though -
memory stick + CF card = both slots being used on your clie.
memory stick + memory stick = one memory stick in your pocket and one bird in your hand?

I like Memory Sticks better also. The main purpose for me having the CF driver, is to be able to have another place to copy files, movies, or pictures without carrying a laptop around. Copying a few pics to the internal RAM from a memstick with 100 or more pics on it, could take a lot of time. Having the CF card in there as a second 'drive' makes it a lot easier to transfer pics off a memory stick and re-format for more usage. Thus, I will only need 1 128 MB (or better) MS on vacation with me and my CLIE and CF card. HEAVEN!

If the price of 1G MS pro = 1G CF or only US$50~70 more, I will buy the MS pro~~~~~~~~~~~~
But now in Hong Kong, 1G MS pro = US$640 while 1G CF = US$215
I can use the 1G MS pro to trade a 1G CF + Sony CF wireless lan + Sony BT MS + 3 Lexar 128MB MS

I think most people would prefer a MS if the price was the same. Some people use BT mem sticks and such but it is noce to have the WIFI card and a big MS in at once. The CF driver is a relief however as a 1gb CF is almost 1/3 the price of a 1GB MS Pro...

I prefer MS as a storage medium, it's more compact. However as other posters have pointed out, cost is a big issue.
Also, since I have an NX70 with a BT MS, the extra slot is useful.
Personally I would prefer two MS slots, but only if MS prices equated to CF and capacity was aligned as well (since 1gb CF came before the equivalent MS).
My 2c worth...
I too would prefer the memory stick over the CF card. But if you are like most people you don't have unlimited funds to purchase things like the MSpro that are literally worth thier own weight in gold.

For regular sticks - yes.
IMHO: This is somewhat of a myth. Memory stick prices used to be much more expensive than CF cards, but that has changed.
The retail (and after-rebate prices) for 128MB memory sticks are very similar to a normal speed 128MB CF card. Typically they are a little bit more expensive, but only by a few dollars. Ie. competition does work.

Of course, the MS Pro sticks are obscenely expensive right now, but they are brand new, and you are paying for technology you can't use in your PDA.
As always, wait a little longer and the prices will come down...
In the mean time, buying several 128MB sticks is a cheaper alternative.

With all the accesories and such that are out there, you will soon need a 'PDA' bag. The big selling point of the >128MB sticks is that you can fit more on them, and only need one to have 2 hours of music plus a ton of apps/docs/maps, etc. I bought a nifty MS case (those super thin metal types that are barely thicker than a MS) in Japan a little over a year ago. I used it for a few weeks then dumped it in my laptop bag, and I haven't carried it around, except in winter when I have extra pockets! :)

The form factor of an MS is better but the price of a CF is better. Even though the prices of a non-pro MS & CF in the US may be equalising, out here in Hong Kong there's still a big difference.
Considering my CF only comes to trasfer a bunch of MP3s or movies onto it then size is no longer an issue. My MS stores my applications. Both CF & MS can stay where they are most of the time now.
So even if the price of MS Pro = CF, I'd still have one of each as my NX70 has a slot for one of each.

I really don't understand why MS must be more expensive than the other flash memory cards like SD, CF, xD, etc., because it is just a flash memory card, only the shape is different. Thankfully, there are 3rd party manufacturers that also produce MSs, like Hagiwara, where here in Japan, it is priced about the same as SD cards. So, I never bought the original Sony one.
and kdn102, I also use the thin MS metal case here, but I use a double-sided tape to stick it to my Innopocket Metal case. That way, I can always carry 5 MS cards simultaneously wherever I go (1 in the slot, 4 in the metal case). Great, isn't it?

some seem to have enough money to buy everything Sony makes.

I like cf because of the price. I have already spent more too much for my clie toy than what my spouse wants.
I spent US$99 on a 512MByte CF card and US$27 on the driver. I can manage to explain the cost, but I do think that I can manage to explain to her the US$650 MS (or 1/2 of the price for 512MB MS).
I realize that the driver is not (or far from) perfect at this time, but overtime (hope that it will short) it will be much better. The first step has been always difficult, and I think Euro has done a wonderful job.
