I recently scrapped my M515 Palm for Z22 and have been very happy with the features. With the M515, I was able to connect directly to my Earthmate GPS navigator through a series of jury-rigged serial cables, with no damage to either unit. I know little to nothing about electronics, so I'm wondering if it's possible to connect the Z22 the same way without overloading or damaging something. I just invested in a new Earthmate with Atlas 2008 as well; any advice appreciated! Thanks!

I don't think this is easily possible as the Z22 is USB, with nothing serial.

Having re-read what I've written, I think I should probably have given a few more details. Told ya-I'm electronically deficient :)

Anyhoo, I have new Earthmate lt-20 GPS (USB, not bluetooth) and I'm looking to direct-connect it to a Z22 (also USB). Is it possible, and if so, how? Thanks!

Sorry, but no.

There is no protocol for those devices to connect directly to each other. You really need both devices to have Bluetooth, besides even if they did connect to each other, the amount of memory that Maps and Mapping software would require would max out your Z22's memory. Ebay often has Palms and GPS units with bluetooth for under $100 each. and if you put up your current devices on ebay it could lessen the hurt.
