I like to use the palm OS and the PPC's. To me both are nice and love what each one offers. Real soon Verizon and Sprint will have out the new i700 which seems to be VERY nice.

The only thing I don't like about this pda/phone is the antenna because it sticks out way to high. Other than that this i700 makes me want to sell my NZ90 and my TG50 along with the other gadgets I have.

What do YOU think and what makes you pass on this i700?

Thanks for any replies.

i wouldn't buy it, simply because I do not like my phone and pda to be 'stuck' together. i like to have the versatility of bringing my pda along when i want and leaving it home other times. also, i have a sony camera, so i can interchange the memory sticks to the clie and to the camera. i'll also bet that the resolution is not better or even close to the NZ. and finally, its a PPC for g-d's sake!

They are making 3 versions of this phone -- Palm OS, PPC, and Symbian (sp?)

The Palm OS has the worst screen resolution, tho.

I use my PDA for almost everything - like taking callback names and #'s from voicemail. that, alone, would be a huge mess with a PDA/Phone integration deal.

Other than that, carrying one thing is a good deal. I just can't imagine fumbling for my earphone when i need to write while I am on the phone.

The answer to all this is bluetooth tying it all together and some higher level software that knows how to fetch addresses from phone book when asked (voice recognizer that really works).

I would get it though...PDA and phone is a perfect combination. The only thing i am worry about is the screen size. As i500 (the GSM version) has OS 5.2, it has everything i wanted in palm base PDA. I realize though that it would only be release on the 3Q 2003.

Respectively disagree. I had the Kyocera 6035, and if I didn't want to pull out the headset, I could always use the speakerphone to jot a quick number from voicemail. I also found using the headset was easier than trying to balance a chiclet sized phone on my shoulder while I fumbled for my PDA.
