Does anyone know if the ms camera works with the tg50? Sony's website doesn't list it as one of the compatible clies, but that maybe an oversight.

This question has been asked before within the last few weeks; one person bought it and it worked on his TG. I suppose the only way to verify it is with a search, sorry I don't have the URL.

Well, I installed the sw for the ms camera, but I can't get it to work! I get this error message:
"This application does not run because necessary library is missing or the system does not support a Memory Stick Camera"
Also, I did a search for the above mentioned thread, but I could not find it.

Sneezy: the thread you saw on the forum says the PEGA-MSC1 works on TG... that's not true....
rhinoman:
Far as i know, our TG does not support the MS camera.....
Acturally, it's the software problem. The PEGA-MSC1 MS camera installation CD doesnt have the driver for OS 5. That's why you saw the "library error" message.
soooo...i guess u will have to return the device or wait for driver upgrade~~

I seem to recall that there is an updated driver for the ms camera. Make sure you have at least tried that...

that sucks. if the TG50 doesn't have a camera the least they could do is have the MS camera compatible with the TG50

There MOST definately IS an update! The built in software is years old! Download the newest camera software!

You know something interesting, when I tried to go to the Sony site and buy an MS camera, it said that the camera was "currently unavailable."

Unforturnly, there is not yet a driver for OS 5.... I would say just return the device before the 30 days refund period ends. And buy it again when new driver is released just for safe~~

Unfortunately, I purchased the camera a few months ago to use with my 665. I gave that to my sister. Also, I did go to the Sony website and get the latest driver so that I wouldn't get a fatal error message when I switched to the ms with the 665. Thanks for the replies. Oh well, my sister is going to get the camera as well!

No, I was referring to the 665. When you switch from camera to ms a fatal error message would come up until you updated the driver. But, as mentioned by others, the camera with the latest driver update doesn't work with os5.

jwang0416,
If you have kept up with Sony at all in the last couple of years, you would know that whenever they discontinue something, it means that something else is coming around the corner. I am hoping a better camera add-on is in the works for OS5 products. THAT'S why I found it interesting that the camera is currently unavailable.
