Just bought a new laptop and Vista was the only OS option; would have preferred XP but a few hours setting up basic software and I'm beginning to like it.

So far, the only potential problem is my T5 - I have a choice (from Palm's website) of an updated v4 desktop that will sync but not allow any installation (and, I suspect, syncing with apps like WorldMate or my airline timetables - I know DTG is a no-no), or the v6 beta that Palm say is not compatible with the T5!.

Does anyone know if the release v6 is likely to work with the T5 - or is there a hack/tweak that can be used? I don't actually need the HotSync with calendars, email or contacts, nor backing up - that's managed with NVBackup and BBVFS to SD cards; I can even install most apps from SD using MyInstall. WiFi updates are possible with some apps (I have the WiFi stick and home network) - it's primarily those few apps that only sync via the PC (and the occasional app that comes as a .exe rather than prc).

I don't want to downgrade to a TX (slower, less memory and reliability issues) - in fact, I'll keep my XP laptop if that's the only other option!
