I have my program set to backup my treo 680 onto my sd card (CardBkup, I think it's the most popular one) after every hotsync. this problem didnt always happening, its been happening for the past few weeks just I haven't gotten around to trying to fix it until now.

this is the error i get:

"
Backup Error
Error:0x0205 /Palm/Programs/jkCB/HotSync/jkbk009E.bkp
Shim Logs
"

I'm given to option to continue backup or cancel backup. I have just been hitting continue backup. This problem may not be a real problem (besides being an annoying error message saying it couldnt copy a file) but it would be nice to have everything on my treo working correctly.

I searched my problem on google, it seems this problem isn't that big of a deal since its just a log file that can't be read. but I don't get why it used to not do this, but now it does.

NVBackup is much more popular with newer (NVFS) devices, and you can't beat the price.

Another vote for NVBackup if going the freeware road.

Other options are BackupMan and Resco Backup (there are more, but those three are by far the most popular AFAIK).

If I read your post correctly, your having a problem backing up Shim Logs? That is an exclusively open database, so backup of that is impossible. It shouldn't effect the rest of your backup. But I also recommend using NVBackup, it is a very good backup utility (and free).
