I have loaded my 1GB Viking card with 200 MP3s and while I'm searching for an specific one I have to scroll down the list in AudioPlayer. However, the refresh time of the list is very slow and doesn't allow me to browse the list instantly. I have to wait to see the complete displayed list. To make it worst, it crashes if you try to scroll faster down the list. It might crash also if you manually play a song from one part of the list and interrupt it for another song further from that one.
I don't know if it has to do with the speed of the driver or with the fact that AudioPlayer is slow reading MP3 lists.
If nobody can write a new MP3 player for the NX, then we could reuse the AudioPlayer functionality and create built an interface that displays the MP3s by Album/Artist you know a la IPod. This is doable and maybe EruWare can make one :)

What do you mean? You mean that the Clie Viewer patch will increase the speed in the AudioPlayer or that it will do anything special to the AudioPlayer? Am I missing something?
Thanks,
Al

What is the size of the patch? How big is it?
Thanks,

ive got a nz, 1 gig sandisk, it always crashes when first reading the file list in the autio player..... i can't get it to not crash... maybe the problem is the size of the flash? weird, moved a few files to a different directory, still crashes with 137 files.... sux.... i think it may be the cf driver..

I have the same problem with my 950mb of mp3s...they play fine until I want to playlist...then i wait and wait....or if I scroll faster it crashes. I am working on a workaround as we speak, but don't expect it anytime soon.

I never had a crash but I have experienced slow response from audioplayer. I loaded a 128mb MS with very compressed audio tracks of a Stephen Kink novel. About 21 hours of listening. Scrolling the list and the initial reading of the card was slow during MS insertion. I found that if I had less files in my msaudio directory things worked OK.
My work around has been to make multiple directories, in this case one per cd, and put smaller numbers of files in them. When I get to the end of a cd, I use the file manager to rename msaudio to msaudiox or something and rename the next directory (cd) to msaudio. Pop the stick out, pop it back in and I am in business.

That is the software that I am working on as we speak...but that it does it automatically.
