Regarding the Verizon 700p maintenance release:

Like so many Verizon 700p users I immediately received the "Error 3000" and other related connectivity problems after the update to the 1.10 Maintenance Release.

After speaking with several Verizon tech support staff over two days, I learned that brand new 700p's with the 1.10 software update do not experience these connection problems due to the way the firmware was updated at the factory.

So after receiving two refurbished replacement phones within a week, I asked for and received a brand new 700p from Palm (my 700p is still under the 1 year new phone warranty).

While I was skeptical that the 1.10 update would perform any better because it was flashed at the factory, I quickly found out it truly did. After over 24 hours of constant use, I have not experienced a single occurrence of the "Error 3000" notification, disconnection issues, blue tooth disconnects, and overall inability to reliably connect to broadband services.

All connections now occur on first attempt and remain connected until I choose otherwise. My Palm Treo 700p now performs extremely well and because the update corrected other 700p performance issues, it truly is a remarkable device.

Since Palm currently does not provide a firmware roll-back option to version 1.06, I recommend that 700p owners whose smartphones are still within the 1 year "free" replacement warranty, request a "brand new phone" from Palm.

It is important to request that only a brand new phone is shipped as the replacement. New phones ship with all manuals, batteries and cables. Refurbished units ship without a battery, a battery door or any other material.

Regards,

J.

can do the "http://discussion.treocentral.com/showthread.php?t=139290&page=3" to see if your ROM version is different than the Downloaded MR

If you can send me the r2sd dump and the nvram dump then I can compare it to see if you got a newer rom version.

Also do a *#*RADIO
