Just wondering if I were to say access a hotspot somewhere that wasn't protected and my wep was not setup. Would anyone be able to access or download the information on my clie?

I think most hotspots are encrypted. I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure they carry the 128 bit encryption that most other home wireless networks use. Anyone want to correct me on this? Anyways, I'm pretty sure you're safe.

Even then, I don't think there is anything out there that has the ability to access your clie files. Maybe the ability to use your connection and see what you're doing, add a virus here and there (IF you can find an actual virus for Palm OS, I know they're out there, but in rare occurences. Hackers and script kiddies have better electronics to fry, such as PCs :)) Maybe they can, but again, I'm no expert

(I posted as a guest above because vbulletin didn't accept my password)

VERY unlikely. Your Clie will appear as a device but not as a HD that can be interacted with. It is theorhetically possible but you are more likely to have someone steal your Clie and get the info that way...

I agree, it's highly unlikely!

Thanks for the insight.

A little paranoia goes a long way, these days. :)
