Some of you, CLIE UX owner, may know of the trick in how to convert your mini USB hotsync port, not only for hotsync, but also for battery charger, as shown in this Jet Jockey's thread:
I can recharge my UX50 directly from the USB port...here's how (http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?t=124223)
I've done it myself to my UX50, UX40, and some of your UX's. Later philpalm asked me if I can do it also for TH55. That is a great idea and I did it!. :D
This CLIE mini USB charger also works with CLIES that have 18-20 pins connector, which include NR, NX, NZ, SJ, T, TJ, TG, and of course my favorite CLIE, TH55. ;)
Here is how to do it:
1. Split open the CLIE charger/mini USB adapter.
2. Get yourselves a sharp-point soldering iron.
3. Find the tiniest wire you can find*
4. Solder the wire from the mini USB (+) to charger terminal (+)**
* I use the wire from dead UX, NR, NX, or NZ.
**(+) pin is the left-most pin of both the mini USB and the power terminal.
See the picture below for detail. Have fun with the project! ;)
If you want me to do it, it'll cost you $15 :D
