Just bought photoskin, but theres a minor problem...

I just purchased photoskin and am waiting for my reg key, but for the time being I am trying to use it as a trial version.

I am hotsyncing skins, but nothing is showing up in the silk skin list (in the photoskin app). Where do these skins need to reside and what do I have to do to get them to even show up??

The skins need to be in RAM. But sometimes, skins in RAM won't show up in the list. A lot of the old NR skins that I used to use will not show up; probably because for whatever reason they're incompatible with the NX. This is not true for all NR skins; some will show up just fine. I've also noticed that sometimes skins don't show up when they're actually there. You need to click on the blank line below the last skin listed, and sometimes a skin is actually in that spot; after clicking on the space, the name will display just fine.

Thanks... I was just testing out the sample ones that came with photoskin and none of those work. I also tried clicking in the empty spaces below like you said, and that doesnt work either.... :(

So nobody knows what the problem could be?? I just got my reg code today and it still does not work. I created a quick sample with photomask and after hotsync (everythings on ram) nothing shows up! I did a soft reset and that didnt help either....

It's just a compatibility issue. To test it, download one of the VG skins from Cliesource that say they are NX-compatible, and see if they show up in your skin list. If so, the app is working fine; it's the skin that's messed up. That said, they still need to do some more updating on the app for OS5; I miss the ability to take pics and make skins like I used to on my NR.

I noticed that some how in the copy or sync the desired file got an extra extention .... like... name.ext.ext.... so I use a file program to delete the extra extention and they all showed up... hope this helps... Van

vansouza, I'm going to be mad if all I had to do was delete an extra extension, and I didn't have to spend all that time learning NXSkinGen to convert my old NR skins!! :) Actually, now that I've done it, it's probably a good thing that I learned NXSkinGen. It's quite a handy program.

Actually, I just checked it out with NR skins that I had made, and I didn't see any extra extension, and they still didn't show up. Maybe this is dependent on the skin or the syncing method.
