This is an issue that has been discussed in some active threads here already. It's an issue with the larger cards and speed. Movies played better on my generic 128mb CF than my Sandisk 1gb I just got. We just have to wait for the updated driver I guess. ;)

I have the same problem with my Integral 512mb CF card.
Is there any immediate solution? I have a 7mb clip that plays perfectly from the MS, but freezes the Clie when using the CF.

I have to disagree, I've a number of movies working from my CF. The issue I've found is if you use Image Convertor set to High Quality, then I get the issue you describe DAVEE001. At the moment my movies work when I use Standard Qulaity and Long Mode, try these out instead.

If it that doesn't work let me know.

i must disagree with you and agree with the others who experienced difficulties.

little plays video-wise on the cf. i have spoken to the developers of the card by phone and they know of this problem.

as of now, i convert dvd's and other large mpegs off the web (so far, i can convert something over a gig with image maker) and it plays flawlessly on the ms ( iave a switchable 256 mg stick) so i use the cf for mp3's and other data and the stick for video.

hopefully this will change when newer verisons of the driver are released.

OK Huston we have a problem!

Two questions, what is the pre Image Convertor format, and what software did you use to get it to that format?

I'm attaching here the link to another post discussing how I used VirtualDub & DivX to get movies onto my NX70V + CF, it might help you...

As the CF is brand new it seems lots of people are having different experinces, some good, some bad. I guess that the price we pay for using something Sony didn't want us to use in the way we're using it...

a little tip that helps play some non-hi quality movies: play em in portrait mode, for some reason the widescrn mode freezes alot more often than portrait. this is more of a solution to the files that play but freeze the controls but it works for some files that wont play in widescreen. i havent found any way to get hi-qual movies to work. hope this helps some. good luck!

On my Sandisk 1GB card I can play DVDs ripped on DVDx and converted by ImageConverter to long play mode.

Only problem is that I can not fastforward or rewind but only play the movies straight through unless I press stop and then ff/rewind and then they work ok
