can i plug in headphones into the jack while charging? At one point in the manual it says that you can use the clie while charging, but another says that you can't plug in stuff to the headphone jack; but has anyone had problems using a jack while charging?

battery seems to be lasting longer this time, I was running some music, and playing Crazyball for around 30 minutes and the batt level hung around 100%. Is this normal? Just yesterday it discharged really fast!

The paint they use on the keyboard, does it scratch off? b/c i am using my thumbnails since the buttons are so small and I don't want to scratch off the numbers and symbols underneath the keys.

The manual says you can only use Blutooth in the country where the TG50 was bought, wtf is this?

SONY ROCKS!

My Memo, Address Book, To Do list, etc button ros seems a little loose, is this the same with everyone else? And are people having trouble using the scroll button? Its not as easy pushing it down as up.

what is pcdb?? It has turned up in my Delete dialogue, but it doesnt sound familiar.

Any suggestions for a better file manager for use in the clie?

I didn't hear this though, in the "Read this First!" Manual, among the first few pages, there is like a "NOTES" section, and bolded, it says, "Bluetooth only functions in the country where the device was purchased" Or something to that effect.

Sorry about my mis-reading, but wherever u got this message was not ture~ :D Bluetooth will work fine in any place no matter where ur tg is from. But kinda weird hum...why the "Read this First" Manual says that.....

I guess.

Here it is, quoted from page 5 of the "Read This First" Manual.

"The Bluetooth function equipped wtih CLIE handheld is valid only in those countries where CLIE handheld is sold."

say, is it just me, or is the hardcopy printed "Handbook" missing? I know you can find it on the CD, but, I dont have the actual printed copy.

Ever heard of FCC?  When any electronic device emanates "radio" waves, it is regulated by FCC in the U.S.  Well, other countries have FCC equivalents, too.  Clies sold in the U.S. are not certified for use, strictly speaking, in other countries.  In the U.S., the 2.4GHz band Bluetooth works in is considered an open use band.  This is not always true in other countries.

I'm not talking about whether it works or not.  This is about certification against local laws and regulations.  Let's don't be myopic about these things...

maikle hit it on the button!

The warning is because of electromagnetic emanations from a product must conform to the national standards and safety rules.

The other reason why is that some protocols and standards may vary because of local variations. So one region may implement a standard one way and another may implement it slightly differently, hence these protocols are incompatible (example - PAL vs NTSC).

Fortunately, Bluetooth has become a standard globally without local variations... though I am waiting for some idiot company to turn up a "new and improved bluetooth" to mess things up! :)

So how can I figure out if I can use BT in the US? I bought my TG50 in Asia.

You can use it and it will work fine. As others have said, the manuel was more or less a legal warning since regulations in some areas might conflict with the use of the Bluetooth radio, but basicly it will work anywhere. Kinda think of the warning like those "Do not Remove" warnings on your mattress :D
