upgrading from NR70V to NX70

I just purchased a NX70 and want to switch over to that from my NR70V. Can I just run a hotsync from my existing Sony Clie Desktop to transfer all the apps and data? If not, what do I do?

delete your palm desktop, install the one that came with it, hotsync, and see what programs you had that were OS5 compatible. I was in your boat yesterday, still working on it, but no complaints so far...

As per above - you may well find it worth researching.

The basic answer to your question is yes, you can. But there are loads of pitfalls:

1) the NX70 is packed with software and so if your NR70 is full it won't all fit on.
2) there are a number of OS4 apps/accessories that don't work as well on the NX70 (eg Quicksheet, Smartlist) because of fontsize issues - or don't work at all (eg Doing, foldable keyboard). If you don't use these, then no problem, but I have both the NR70 and the NX70 - and the NR70 remains my PDA for daily use ......

The other advantage of installing program by program is that you will get rid of all the debris you're likely to have accumulated on your existing palm.

I did just that when the NX came out. Every thing worked fine. Info on MS from NR was recognized by NX. I'd have to say it was the least trouble of all operations so far.
