Hi I can't seem to find where to get a wifi card. I can't pay sony's rediculous price for it though. I found my clie in an alleyway a couple of months ago and I love it. I have never had a pda before and I would like to explore what else it can do! Oh my pda is a Sony Clie PEG-NX70V/G !Thanks Rap Attack

Have a look at the thread http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?p=987800#post987800 many have responded with the WiFi card that they've found to work with Mini's patch. The card I picked up off eBay is:

Microlight CFW100 works, (with FCC ID of Q5SWF18) from
http://stores.ebay.com.au/microligh...MP3-GPS-SD-WIFI

Search on "802.11b cf"

When inserted in to my NX70V/G Card Info displays:

PRISM Freedom PCMCIA Adaptor Intersil
CF Networt (sic) Adaptor
Device ID: 28928

Ah the ebay pages didn't appear but yeah I did read that there is a patch for other models of CF cards. It would be good to see how many people have used that patch and how successful they were with it.

Gear card? I haven't heard that term. So it is a Sony product? I know you said recommended so I guess that is what you mean. So what did you want to trade it for? I am a trash hunter so if I can carry it home I can find most things. Just a matter of time. :D

its full name is sony clie gear wireless lan card pega - wl100. very long name. when you get a sony clie, there is a small tag in the box indicating this card. i ordered one from sony and they sent me two for some reason.

i like pc games. i like movies (sci-fi). knives, fountain pens. there are many things that i would take in exchange. a plane ticke to Australia would be nice....hehehe. always wanted to go. see the Great Barrier Reef....that would be cool. very cool.

He he....ok will keep an eye out for movies(dvd?) etc. I went out there tonight and didn't see any of those things but it is only a matter of time. I go trash hunting every sunday. Hey what do you mean by fountain pens? I know that term but no one uses it now and I never did ask what is the difference between those and average pens.
Ha ha Barrier reef...geee I haven't even been there. I am wayyyyy to poor to go there and I am closer to it. I have been to the state that the reef is in which is Queensland and gee it is nice up there.
Anyway the long and the short is that you should hear from me next week. :)

fountain pens are old style pens that write with a nib. using bottled ink. i am a big fan of pens and pencils but fountain pens are my favorites. usually the nibs are made of 14 or 18 karat gold. makes a smooth write.

i know what you mean, i wish i was rich. i am close to carlsbad caverns in new mexico and i can't afford to go there. i should go there first then the reef when i am rich.

happy hunting

dvd is all i know. no tapes. what's a tape?
i am really interested in the new series battlestar galatica. of course there is a new star trek movie coming out. i could use a bootleg...you might want to check the paramont dumpter in hollywood...best of luck

Ah yes now I know what you mean. I did see a very nice set including different sizes of nibs some weeks ago when trash hunting so I may come across some more. I also came across some professional artist pencils(colored) and markers or felt pens. They were new too.

Oh I have never heard of those caverns. Sounds adventurous. You aught to go there definately.

Tapes. I meant VHS. Here we are dominated by dvd's now but there are still a lot of oldies like me that have vhs. I did find a dvd player last year and that was my first experience with them...ha ha.
Sydney is a bit far from Hollyweird.....ha ha. I have been there actually. Was living in LA back in '92 when the riots broke out there and came back in '94. The boyfriend at the time brought me over there and then we both were broke so that was it :( . Ah well **** happens.

Scored a 40gig hard drive for my laptop last night and a handsfree for the cell phone that I found last night. Oh and some nice clothes etc.

i have lots of art supplies, i haven't used them in awhile. no need for that stuff. i remember tapes, we had the first vcr when it came out. i started watching DVDs and never looked back.

sounds like you and i were in LA at the same time.
LA can be rough. i am sorry it was not a better memory for you. i lived in Hollywood for 14 years before leaving to New Mexico. i lived behind the Mann's Theatre. there is nice cozy dumpster....hehe. just kidding. i lived on el cerrito and hollywood. i just moved my nephew and niece out here from LA. starting my niece off at school on thursday and nephew in a couple more weeks. hopefully there mother will be here tomorrow. i can't believe i stayed as long as i did. i should of finished school and left. i am rambling. catcha later.

Cool art supplies out!
Wow you were in LA the same time. I even went to the trial of those 4 cops that were charged for beating Rodney King. Actually it was not a bad memory. Just an adventure really!
Well sounds like your in a better place now and doing better....outta that dumster....ha ha! ;)

that riot was fun.....lots of backlash came from that trial. i am glad it wasn't a bad memory for you. adventure is what you will find in LA. i had many. i am in a better place now for sure. i live on top of a mountain in a cedar log house on 15 acres. no helicopters, sirens, neighbors and the only gun shots are done by me.

Wow sounds like your in a really nice location. I am still in a big city(for Australian standards) and we have a Prime Minister that is paranoid so sometimes it is restrictive here but still not as bad as the cities in the states.

If anyone else would like to buy PEGA-WL100, I have one too that is collecting dust. Just PM me and I'll give you a good price.

Sydney is a cool place. I enjoyed the hiking and ubseiling (repelling as American would say it) in Blue Mountain. Would like to SCUBA dive in Great Barrier Reef some day.

The CF WiFi card which works with mini's patch only cost you about US$14 in China. :-)

Yes I know. I have often got onto ebay to look but so far I have not been successful at finding the right one and I was getting sick of looking. Anyway I am in no hurry as I have more important things to spend money on.

michaelta-well no success yet with this trash hunting night! I got some goodies for myself and some things to sell on ebay hopefully but nothing for you yet. If you get any offers for your card take it and don't wait for me. Would be nice to have but I do not want to hold you up.

Well I haven't been on this site for a long time. I got caught in the rain last year and the Clie suffered for over 6 months. I thought it was dead. I tried to boot it up after only 3 months but it didn't get very far. I had it half pulled apart but then I fully pulled it apart and that did the trick. Sorry I didn't get back to you about making a swap for the wifi card. Now I have a reliable notebook with Linux installed so I don't need to try to use the Clie. It is working well again though except that I seem to have a problem accessing some of the features on the lower part of the screen. I know this is because there is some update or something that I forgot to reinstall after I installed a new battery. Hope you are all well!
