I hope the new CF update address the video playing problems.
Never the less I'm sure it will be great. I'll continue to support anyone who improves upon the clies untapped potential.

Also I hope there is an update for a CF import to be added to MS import - that way I don't have to keep removing that blasted CF card... afraid of the eventual wear and tear.

now we just need a patch for Image converter to manually split our mqv's to a size to fit onto a 128 MB MS...

Any new developments yet with this new update n2ifp? I find more and more videos I encode don't work as well on my 1gb as they did on my 128mb generic CF. Thanks for your time.

I am curious as well. Would be curious to know how the updated driver will be delivered to registered users....email attachement...download...other. Will there be a broader beta testing after internal testing? I would love to try it out :)

Does anyone know if the problem with movie player is speed-related or is it the coding of the driver? I hope they can eventually make this driver as efficient as the MS slot is with movies. My $27 is well invested. :cool:

Maybe the testers aren't allowed to really talk about it until it's released? Just like the first beta of this driver.. we would only get periodic updates. Its killing me though..

Oh, we're allowed to talk about it all we want. Amir has already given his blessing on that.

We are still trying to shake a couple of the bugs out of new enhancements such as more speed and the Camera writing to the CF.

This is pretty tricky stuff so please be patient. We all want this to work when it is released.

I am reluctant to say much, until I am sure. I'd hate to make a statement or mislead someone, if it didn't pan out. There are a lot of issues to work out. In one of my previous posts, things are being done in baby steps. In otherwords, you don't put the roof up before the foundation :).

Amir's email to the beta testers was very clear about allowing us to freely discuss our findingson any forum. I am not goingf to post every little detail as that may cause more problems for everyone than it is worth.

My goodness no, my comments had nothing to do with you at all. My point was of a general nature. What I was trying to say is, that if I say okay now this feature is fixed and tomorrow it isn't, then I would feel like a fool. I am aware that Amir gives his blessings to discuss it, but we both know that over the weekend, not much was happening. You and I basically were the only ones who were comparing notes.

Hopefully this clears things up for you. Again it was no way directed at you and if you perceived it that way, please accept my sincerest apologies.

OK, OK, OK, let's get along here .............Please! Everyone that is beta testing is doing their part in order to benefit us all in the future, I Thank you for your time.. What I get tired of in this thread like others is the bashing, banting, of one another. People are all different and how they handle things or even speak is based on the freedom they are allowed. Every day I hear my kids whine about something but to hear it here from adults is rather sickening. Can't we just all get along and maybe perhaps take things to heart that what might have been said was interpreted the wrong way? I'm not trying to step on anyone's toes but the bickering has to stop...............let's focus and commend each other other on their roll on making this a better product for all.

I know there's been threads related to the whole masquerading that's had to be done to have the CF and MS work together... is any of the new beta work related to making those work more smoothly together?

Hi Chris!

Right now it has centered around the Clie Camera and speed improvements. My feeling is that it's best to not go into too many directions at once. It is understood there is many things to look at. All constructive comments appear to be added to the list.

I guess I am in that last 10%...my CF is only for MP3's and I hope the speed of that is increased so I can make a playlist sometime this year.

Well, I'm not sure if it's 90% but I certainly would prioritize the movie player fix above the ability to make a playlist. However, I would hope that they are working on both issues :)

you guys can't make a playlist? if your talking about audioplayer i can make a playlist on my 1gb viking card, the track numbers don't change but they do play in the order that i place them

Any time estimates as to when the new updated driver might be ready for a wider release? I understand that this is a work in progress, but man is it hard to remain patient!!!

Oh well, I hope they get the movie player sorted out first... once that is working reasonably well I hope they release it to the public... anything is better than what I have now with a screen that freezes on some movies and works perfectly on other movies? How bizarre?

It is my understanding that this is high on the priority list as of last night and is the next step for EruWare. The developer is the only one that can give a time frame.

I am with you man!!!! My 1 gig viking is just sitting in the slots doing nothing. I have tons of PrOn, ;) I mean music videos sitting to transfer into CF.

Well so am I - in that 10%.
So far not really interested in the camera or movie capability, but I do want to see an improvement with the MP3 player. The 'hang' and reboot routine is starting to annoy me a little - but still better off with the CF than without. I'm hoping that the speed issue being worked on will resolve some of the 'hang' issues with the Mp3player.

Nevertheless... a little patience is required. The developer(s) don't want or need 3000+ unruly beta testers on this message board ...whom they can't manage or satisfy - which is effectively what this release and we became.

Sort out the bugs guys, and get the next release out then......

Two questions

- if everyone gets upset over "unregged" posters, why not allow only regged people to post - I mean if the mods are allowing it why are people complaining?

- re beta testers reticent to post/discuss - what's the problem with telling the group that a particular feature is being tested and a few days later saying it didn't work out and won't be implemented at the moment - again if we're not mature enough to handle that scenerio then perhaps we shouldn't be reading this thread

I don't know you guys, but I have a feeling that by the time we see a third beta we will probably see a whole array of new Clies. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with the driver, but I believe it is about time to update it for a more reliable and robust one. I paid for the driver, because they promised it wasn't a final release and that they were going to keep improving it.
