I have always have had good luck with SanDisk. They are cheap, reliable, work, power miserly, but may not be the fastest card in town. There are others, but usually I know I can't go to far wrong in recommending SanDisk.

I sprung for a Kingston 1GB (w/ PCMCIA adapter), and BOY AM I HAPPY!

I view a large 66MB book daily in iSilo and it loads from the CF card JUST AS FAST AS FROM THE MS!!!

THE CF DRIVER ROCKS!

I recently got my $176.99 1GB Sandisk CF card from Amazon delivered and it works great!

If you have the means I highly recommend it. I can't find any better price anywhere else to date.

(no rebate forms or extra shipping/tax fees)

I am using a Sandisk 6 in 1 USB 2.0 reader and have had no problems.

Now all I need is a MS pro either 1GB/ or 512MB and I will have a portable Blockbuster DVD/ movie player with all my favorite DVDs.

thus far:

Braveheart, Spiderman, X-men, Matrix, Fight Club, Lord of the Rings FOTR, Gladiator, Pitch Black, Dances with Wolves, Thomas Crowne Affair.

more to be added to my personal library each day! Possiblities are limitless...

(I can finally compress each to about 110 - 140 MB/ DVD)
and with my Sony battery adapter, long trips won't be quite as boring on airplanes anymore as I can watch DVD after ripped DVD on my NX70v.

In my experience avoid Simpletech 1 GB cards. Bought one on the net and boy was I sorry.

I returned mine last week after major headaches/ heartache with vendor/ card maker/ credit card company to stop payment for lemon card...

ie crash, don't load up right, corrupt easier, take more battery power.

go with Viking (for speedier transfer/ but uses more battery power), or Sandisk (for longer battery life/ more reliability, but slightly slower speed in transfer - thus less battery power consumption).

Simpletech seems to give people (myself included) more problems than the other cards.

Maybe they are made cheaper?
