I just bought second Palm Tungsten T3.
I am going to be the sole user of both units and would like to have a slightly different configuration on each unit. I would like both units to share some of the same Apps but not all of them. If a separate configuration is not possible I would not be adverse to both units sharing one user name but Palm says “It is not advisable that you use one username on two are several handhelds as this may cause data duplication or worse data loss upon performing HotSync®. You need to assign different usernames for each handheld”. All my Apps are in the user name of the first unit and (I think) they can't be used on the second unit if it has a separate user name. I really don’t want to pay for them again. Is there anyway to keep the units or Desktops separate? Palm says NO and suggests “If you want to have certain data on both handhelds, what you could do is import them into the Palm™ Desktop from one username to the other.” I haven’t tried that yet and am unsure if it would accomplish what I want. I thought keeping all data of one unit on a separate drive ie; a thumb drive might work but I am not sure. Does anyone have any ideas or solutions?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions & help,
Tod
