I have an NX70v purchased in the UK and I want to take the software upgrades from the US Sony site.
However sony says you shouldn't take them if you own a non-us clie. Has anyone taken them and is it ok?

I assume they say it just for legal reasons.

I bought my Clie in Singapore and downloaded the updates by selecting the NX70V/G model. I did not have any issues. As I recall there are no updates on the Sony UK site anyway

Cheers

I have a UK CLIE and have had no issues with the Software updates from the US and Singapore sites.... I think this is just a standard Sony discaimer and possibly something to do with international reion licensing rather than actual compatability

Thank you for the advice - I thought that some of the updates were not applicable because the European version shipped later than the US.

Question - has anybody moved the updates across to the Flash mamory yo replace the original ones?

If so, did you use JackFlash?

I got my NX in Hong Kong. So far I've downloaded all but 1 update from the US Support site (not the Sony Game Controller update). All but 1 of the upates worked without a problem. The one update I've had an issue with is the new CLIE Columns update. I downloaded and installed it but it can't see the previous version. It doesn't seem like a big issue to me (at the moment) so I've not done anything about it.
