Did anyone change from a Treo to iPhone? Do you know of anyone? Any comments?

yes, it's great. anything in specific you want to know? only things where treo is better that i've found so far are mail (snappermail is better than iphone mail, mostly) and typing. iphone's keyboard just can't compare to the treo hard qwerty

cheers, tyler

I think typing on the iPhone is much faster. It takes a bit of practice and realizing that you can count on the smart iPhone to correct your typing errors when you press the space bar to go on to your next word. I found when I stopped looking at what it was typing....my paragraph's were usually correct! There is nothing to press and the key selection area is bigger than on treo. Give it time and I think we'll all be typing faster than on Treo (I had Treo 650 and then switched to Blackberry Pearl, which I loved, but now my iPhone is my new love)

What about the Calender, I hear that it does not have one of its own, it links to Outlook, does it work with Palm?

To do, memo?

How are you adjusting to running third party software from the browser?

There is a Calender on the iPhone, and it can sync with Outlook, so I guess if you synced your Palm and your iPhone, all the data would be synced.

I think To-Do is synced with the Calender, and I am not sure about Memo.

dg is right about cal... it can sync with ical on macs and outlook as well. calendar on the iphone is unbelievable, better IMO than Palm's Calendar PIM by far.

there is no distinct To-Do, it's incorporated into the Calendar app.

as for memos, there is a Notes application very much like the Stickies mac os x widget... it looks like yellow line ruled paper that you type notes on. unfortunately, drawing isn't supported ilke it is with Notes on some Palm devices.

running 3rd party apps in safari isn't great, but it's not as terrible as i had originally suspected. it works well for all these internet centric web 2.0 apps, not for intensive processing apps.

Does the calender sync with Palm Calender? Can you make categories for events? Don't know anything about IMO, please explain.

I don't know much about the third party software Safari running, you have to go the website every time to run it?

There is no MS Word, Excel or Acrobat reader?

Is there a IR port or does the BT let you connect from one iPhone to the other to beam contacts or files?

I don't use Palm calendar, but I'm 99% sure that iPhone will not sync with it. There are no categories for events. IMO just stands for "in my opinion"

Yes, you have to go to a website to run the software. It actually runs fully in the browser.

Yes, Mail can read and display Word, Excel, Acrobat files. No editing supported

There is BT, but its only for headsets and car phone systems. No support for transferring files between iphones or to and from computers

Most of these things are all software related so they can come into the picture down the road.

Waiting for touchscreen Slider WM6 device. So I can edit my Docs, Excel sheets. Play SNES. Enjoy touchscreen again. iPhone is overrated. I did use it and found it to be meh. The iPod part is IMHO the best feature. Everything else needs drastic improvement. Like the landscape keyboard support throughout the device.

J-man! Hiya! LTNS!

I gotta say, the iphone case looks slick, but I don't like the black background and the lack of apps. It's a 'feature phone' IMO. Treo users can already do way more, so...
