Hey there,
I recently purchased a 4Gb Sd Card. It is not SDHC.
Anyway, after i put more than 700Mb in the card (of files and videos and stuff), the cards directory becomes very strange. I get folders named "0h0hhs0" and other random things. I think this may be corruption. Now what i dont understand is the 2gb sd card i have is formatted as fat32 and the 4gb sd is formatted as fat. Shouldnt they be the same?
Is there anything i can do?
Thanks.

Did you format the 4GB card with the TX or just use it "as is"?
Formatting it with the TX should make it FAT32.
Also, some 4GB cards have been reported to not work with the TX. For instance, there has even been considerable variation in how the Transcend 4GB 150x card works in the TX, from one card to the next.

Thanks for your reply Gregte. I did use it as is, and followed you suggestion. Everything appeared to be sweet, but when i tried copying some music on the card, then removed the card, then browsed back to the directory with music, i get this. (image)
If it helps, the card is an SD Ultra II. (Not sure what brand, my apologies)
Its not the card reader. The same thing happens in other hardware.
Any pointers?
Thanks

Just a thought... Did you make sure to ''unmount'' the card before you took it out? If not the card can become corrupted.
If it won't format in your TX what error message do you get? You could try to format the card using your desktop. Just search the forums here - Sorry I'm posting from my TX or I would search for you. :-)

I Certainly did unmount the card first. It unmounts first (on my desktop, and laptop) and seems fine. Then when i put the card back in a pc, directories inside look like my thumbnail above.

I dont get an error message, as such, the cardinfo app simply doesnt read the card. It sits at the point where it reads each directory and says "please wait". I waited for half an hour for this 4gb sd, the same thing takes a 2gb above 4 seconds.
Thanks for you replies.

Hi:
Are you using a card reader that's 4gb compliant? I've seen internal pc card readers that corrupt sd cards as they're not able to handle larger sizes. I only use my sd card with my own card reader, one that I know works with 4gb sd cards. I just ordered some 24 in one card readers for $6 each.
A thought.
