What Do You Think?

Ok, I have taken alot of time to convert "The Message Bible" by Eugene Peterson into a Palm Isilo linked documents. Here is my connundrum. I did it because it was not available for the Palm and I only use my palm to read ANYTHING with anymore including my bible. Now since it is all done and VERY nicely done (IMO) :-) and I do not charge for it could anyone post it for others to get it and DL it? I LOVE this bible. I would just like to find someone to "Host" it. I will provide it. (Yes I own the actual book!) Email me at private@iheka.com

The Message Bible is now offered by Olivetree.com as one of the Bible's you can purchase to read with its free biblereader. I have it on my NX, works great.

I think usually copyright law usually prohibit reproducing the content, and stated transform into different media is also prohibited.

Now Olivetree have it, i don't think it matters fo ryou now, "What do you think"

Read the copyright notice carefully. It explicitly states that you cannot reproduce or copy the version of the Bible or transmit it in digital format. In other words, you can only have one copy in existence - paper or software each time you pay for it.

Converting it into PDA format is a breach of copyright if it is already sold (in this case, through Olive Tree). Otherwise, you will have to obtain permission from the copyright holder for you to do otherwise.

Saying that you own the PC software version and converting it to PDA format is not for "archival purposes". Neither does the existence of someone selling the version legitimise the copy you have. If you haven't paid for it, you have breached copyright laws.

Sorry about stating it such hard terms, but love it or loathe it, copyright laws does have it's place in society - and for someone who adheres to the Bible says, I encourage you to do the right thing and not steal.

One suggestion though - you can write to the copyright holders of this version and ask for permission to use it in Isilo format and offer to pay a equivalent purchase price for a similar piece of software. Some publishers and copyright holders are flexible enough to say yes. You won't know unless you ask!
