good day all.
long time lurker, all time researcher, infrequent poster.

i have found out the hard way that sony memory stick is not compatable with the UX-50. in the process of purchasing the sandisk 4gig. however i am seeing many different opinions on the usability of all 4gigs in a stable palm environment. i have the scsi driver with the caution **use at your own risk** and keep a spare incase of crash.
however my question is comes OS capability. Sony was kind enough to flash my OS when they fixed my screen to PalmOS5.2, just for the sake of clarity please, (and so i dont waste my money yet again on an unusable memory stick. is the scsi driver all i need to use the 4gig on my UX-50 with the PalmOS5.2? and what about the Linux OS when it comes? is there going to be a compatable flash that will work with the UX?

thanks in advance Piper

I believe that the 4GB memory sticks can only be used with the Clie in conjunction with Dmitry's FAT32 driver (http://www.palmpowerups.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&lid=8)...

YEs, you need a special driver to use a 4 GB MS, BUT the built in multimedia apps will not work with this MS. The main problem then is the Audio player ... because using another one will drain battery 3 times faster ...

I wonder ... do you know if ALBUM SWAP would work with such a big MS ?
