sorry for this new thread...

i have large, video files say 600 mgs and need to convert them to movie player format.

i split the larger file into 6 smaller ones (100 mgs each) and sucessdully dlded them to the mem stick and all play video well in movie player. each file is some 10 megs on the card

the problem is that only the first file i converted plays audio. the others dont. the are valid mpg files and work with a variety of players)

sony tech support had no idea what to do and was useless.

even closing the converter and restarting it has no effect.

the program used to split the larger into smaller parts is "avi & mpeg splitter." seems to do its job fine.

any suggestions?

Well that's an issue with the format(as you already guessed it). YOu have two choices. Try re-encoding to avi and trying again, or leave it that size and encode it with lowest quality that will fit on one MS hopefully. I have similar problems, it is because of ImageConv it is very selective.

I have the same issue when I separate video files. The least amount of splitting you do, the better it is. Image Converter is a mysterious thing because you can't specify what your outputs are (like in Kinoma).

for ex: i just ripped a new dvd...total mpeg size=900 mgs.

from what i understand, image converter does not always like files above 128 mb.

so is there a way to avoid multiple splits and still get st to transfer?

I split them naturally for a 900MB film does not fit a CD. If it is split at 700MB it makes about 90-100MB on lowest output, that is enough for me- my MS is only 128MB big.
FlaskMpeg is splitting them automatically at my specified size.
