Hi,
These two clies seem to have the same features and the same price? What are their main difference and which one do you think is better?

I like the T665. It has a metal case vs. plastic. The T665 is thinner vs. shorter. The T665 comes with a cradle vs. a sync cable. The T665 has vibrating alarms, and an enhanced IR w/remote control. However, the SJ33 has a flip cover, vs. a flip pad to cover the screen.

One bid difference as stated in Sony specs is the lifespan of the battery. SJ33 can last for about 17 hours while 665C about 10 hours. So, if you more of a MP3 fan, maybe you can consider the SJ33.
But persoanlly, I feel that 665C is cooler, more style. Though I am a student, I prefer its metallic style, rather than the plastic cover on SJ33, which somehow does not appeal to me. Size do matter too, as what is said above, 665C is thinner.
And yes, with the enhanced IR thingy, Omniremote Pro works great! I have input practically every IR device in my house, from TV, VCR, DVD to even Aircons! How I wish there a invention for IR lights, not that I know of at this moment... Sigh
For the money, the T665 is the best valued PDA on the market. Though similar, the SJ33 does not match the T.

Its the thinner, metal case for me.

The T665 is much more elegant as a design. The added thickness of the SJ33 is probably to house a bigger battery, and to make it that much more difficult to carry ANYWHERE. I charge all the time, so I'm not worried about the battery life. To date, nothing beats the T665 as the perfect PDA...for me of course.

The SJ33 casing is a grease magnet and scratches easily.

If you charge your PDA daily, I would recommend a 665C. Its thinner and nicer too.

In my opinion, the T-665 is much better than the SJ-33, except for the battery life issue. But, the thin plastic case, etc. is much easier to carry and more rugged. Besides, 10 hrs. vs. 17 hrs. battery life is not an issue. I never run low. Put it on charger every few days. You can even get a cable to charge it from a USB port connection.
I had a choice, and I picked the T-665. I have no regrets.
Good Luck!

Wow you sure are ignorant. I don't even have to argue. You're just 100% biased towards your crappy out-dated T665.

And tell me 1 reason how "The T665 is a better machine" other than that the T665 is metal. Too bad that's not possible.

My crappy, outdated T665? Talk about ignorant! What can the Zire do better than my 665? Look at popularity first of all - the 665 is a proven winner. It is built well, has an excellent screen, and serves all my purposes. Your only purpose for beeing on this board is to cut down every Sony and show us your stupid avatar which no one cares about. Why don't you start a Zire board, go take some second rate pictures with it and leave us alone.
There, I feel better now.:)

What can the Zire do better than the 665? First of all, it has a 144mhz processor, secondly a camera, thirdly better included software. I probably missed a lot, but there is no point bragging about your T665's excellent screen because the Zire 71s is better. Laffs at your stupidity.

And how dumb are you to compare popularity??? The zire was released so recently! And not only that, they are FLYING off the shelves.
I'm surprised that ___ didn't reccommend the H1910.

You're equally wrong, both devices have good and bad aspects. Having seen a Zire 71 last night, the screen simply blows away every Sony screen I've ever seen. The design is sleek, the camera is well-integrated (albiet useless for someone who has a pocketable Cybershot U10), but the screen was almost enough to make me switch. However, as a N760 user waiting for a non-clamshell transflective-screen OS5 device, the lack of basic Sony features (jog dial, back button, high-quality headphone jack, hold switch), along with the T-series Sony features that I expect in a new device (the Yahama sound processor, enhanced IR/remote control), was enough to keep me away from the Zire. The T665 is a better overall device, even at OS4 and 66MHz, but the Zire is still a good mid-range OS5 device.

The 665 is "OVERALL????" a better device because it has a jog dial and better speakers and a better IR? Lmao!

If I was a first time buyer, I would agree that this device is pretty good for the price. But since I too have a T665C, it wasn't enough to sway me.
The little pin they used as their navigator felt really cheap and could snap at any time and I didn't like the slider on it. A camera with no flash? No thanks.
The T665C is more than adequate for my day's tasks that need to be performed. It's a great device and feels quite at home in my hands. In terms of form factor (for me), nothing can be the T.

Well, let me sit down so I am not blown over by your higher intellect. It all comes down to personal preference and as I said my crappy T665 does it all for me. Don't get too carried away with faster processors. I haven't fallen asleep waiting for my 665 to do anything. The screen is superb. And I have a digital camera better than the one on the Zire so I don't need that either. I work in an ICU - thats Intensive Care Unit in case you don't know - and have a multitude of medical apps I use on a daily basis and my crappy 665 hasn't let me down yet. What PDA did your mommy and daddy buy you??? And talk about stupidity, ___ was the best you could come up with??

You're way off topic. Who the hell said we were comparing which PDA best suits YOUR needs? The argument is "which PDA was the best in relation to how much it costs". GG newbie.

Boys, boys....back off! If you'll look at the subject line you'll see your mistake. How did we get here? It seems to me we have a new thread; T665 vs. Zire71...IMO another case of apples>oranges.

Do you know how to read? I was comparing Zire 71 with T665. You said THAT comparison was like apples and oranges. I am not comparing the Zire 71 & T665 with the T665 & SJ33. I am comparing the Zire 71 with the T665. So if Zire 71 is apples, how is T665 oranges. GG.

Hence my point. Why did YOU introduce the Zire 71 into a comparison of the T665 vs. the SJ33?
T665 and SJ33 are Sony, OS4, 66mHz, apples vs.
Zire71 Palm, OS5, 144mHz, oranges!
It's obvious to me!

nice flame war!
T665C and zire71 are not of the same generation: this is a false debate. I will keep my T675c (the european T665c) for a few years: there is not enough killer applications running on OS5 only today. So OS5 is not an urgent need for me (I'm not a monthly PDA buyer, I kept my IIIc 3 years). But if I was looking for change today, I would really consider the zire71 and tungstenT (because there is no clie with OS5, no photo, no keyboard and virtual graffity available).
regarding the T665c vs SJ33 debate, I prefer the T665 for one point: during meetings I like to put alarms in silent mode, keeping the vibration active. It allows me to be warned of upcoming task/appointments, without bothering the people attending at the meeting.
It is also nice to have vibration when you are in noisy environment: I keep the pda in my pans front pocket and may not hear some alarms whitout the vibration option.
battery life is not an issue until you start playing games.
so I will say that T665 is more business oriented, and SJ33 is more polyvalent due to its battery life.
Just my 2 cents.
