I picked up a second-hand T/X for $150 as a backup. Currently I have a PQI 4gb 150x SD card and have had no problems with it. I need to order another 4gb sd card to keep the palms synced.
In recent threads within the last couple of months many of you have ordered 4gb cards, Transcend, adata etc. Many of you also complained that some cards became corrupted or lost data.
Given that some time has passed, what's been your experience?
Looking on Amazon and at other vendors, more and more SDHC cards are being sold so it seems prudent to order a couple of regular SD cards now while they're inexpensive and available.
I'm assuming that SDHC cards won't work with the T/X???
Thanks for any comments,
Tom

I'm using a 4Gb card for over a year now. I had once that the data could not be accessed anymore.
I had to retrieve the data using some data recovery tool I purchased.
Anywee, it works fine and also fast as long as formatted with /A:16K (see other posts) using XP and a card-reader.
Good luck

Yes.
At least until dmitry might fix this. Treo680īs can read SDHC, but their libs canīt easily ported to the TX, thatīs how I understood the problem. Pity that when dmitry asked "what now" (see that thread), SDHC support for TXīs didnīt make it to be in first place.

I have been using 4 GB Ridata straight from my Pocket PC. I store all my music on it. Ptunes has no problems reading music from it, no hiccups. Sometimes, I get a lock up if I try to move large files on the card using Palm, but that is OK -- I just use the desktop PC with a card reader for large file manipulation.
Otherwise, I am happy with the card.

I've been using an A-Data 4gb card for close to a year and would NOT buy another. Mine coninually needs to be chkdsk'd in order to get rid of corrupted files with wierd names and I have to reformat it every few of months.

I ended up getting another pqi Hi-speed 150 4gb card for my backup T/x. There may be better alternatives out there but mine has worked reliably. There aren't many more bargain non SDHC deals out there so I ended up paying $50 with shipping. I'll watch out for Adata. Good to know when recommending cards.
Thanks,
Tom

Due to the apparent "flakiness" of 4GB SD cards, when my TopRam died last week, I bought a 2GB SanDisk Ultra SD card instead. I can't believe how fast it is. CircuitCity has them on sale $29.99
I've heard that older model Transcend 4GB cards are great but the new model is sluggish. Gregte started a discussion on this over at Brighthand if you'd like to read more about how to tell them apart. Also, it's good to know that sometimes there are counterfeits in circulation that aren't as good as the real thing.

I brought a transcend 4Gb ULTRA card, and it is useless. When i fill the card over 800Mb, everything corrupts. I get stupid filenames. i recently posted a thread about my dilema.
Not Happy at all.
