Hi, am in Australia and found this on an Australian Website. They appear to have limited stock but have black, red and brown Covertec cases.

I'm not sure if they will send overseas, so if you want me to purchase one on your behalf, it will cost AUD$39 (the case $29, Aus post to me $10 according to their website) and then the postage to you is dependent on where you are. I would send it to you in a padded bag. This is just a service I am offering to other Clie owners. Dan is being his usual kind self in helping me out with a new case, mine is damaged, and I've come to the conclusion that Clie owners are all really nice people.
Cheers from downunder,
Sue McKoy
Thanks for offering this, Sue. And welcome to 1SRC.

Welcome Sue. I guess your TH-55 is an A(for australia ) model. Since I am a new TH-55 owner I am thinking of a new thread marking all the programs and applications that will work with TH-55. Included will be the various versions that work with TH-55.
Looks like 2GB will be the highest memory card you can use. I wonder if the covertec case has a compartment for the memory sticks?

Yes. 2 and 2 slots for credit cards. I have 2 used Convertec brown. Unlike SENA case, the Convertec case also comes with removable belt clip, which is a nice feature. I see the same feature is used by Brando case.
After doing a lot of buying and selling TH55s, I collected a bunch of TH55 cases like Convertec, Brando, GlobalSource, SENA, Krusell, Bellagio, CAPDASE, Innopocket, Proporta :D
In one of these days I'll do a garage sales of these TH55 cases. LOL

With the FAT32 driver, my Sandisk Memory Stick PRO Duo 4GB works fine in the TH55!

Except for battery-friendly DSP apps like AudioPlayer and MoviePlayer.

Hello Joel, Kendoka, Philpalm, Dan T,and Renaldog and thank you for my warm welcome. The background to my ownership of my beloved Clie...I bought one as a gift for my twin brother on our birthday and one for myself. I bought them off ebay in the UK as I wanted both bluetooth and wifi, and had them sent to my friends there who brought them out with them on a visit. Andrew and I love our Clies. It dawned on me how upset I would be if I lost/broke my clie, after accidentally dropping it on a tiled floor and breaking the hinge part, so I then set out to purchase a spare one, as I will be travelling overseas soon (won a free trip, aren't my hubby and I lucky). That brought me to the 1src site, Dan T and the forums. The model I have is an E1.
Renaldog, please explain to me how/why you need FAT32 driver to make a 4GB work in TH55, these 4GB's are for sale here at reasonable price.

Just in case you don't have anything to read on your trip, then this ought to keep you busy. FAT32 thread: http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?t=88022&highlight=fat32
PS. Welcome Sue. Since you own two '55s you qualify for the TH55 Nutcase club. Have you signed up yet?

Except they changed the name to Multi-TH55 Owners Club to protect the innocent. ;)

Hi Lanman. Your reply made me laugh. I've proudly become a member of the TH55 Nutcase Club :) I tried reading that thread but got lost on the about the fourth page. It's a bit beyond me and there seemed to be too many hassles to make it worthwhile. I think I'll stick with and be very happy with 2GB memory cards, though at the moment the largest I own is a 512. I've been using my memory cards to load on movies for my trip (even though we are not going until November).

Well, it's always nice to start your day with a chuckle (@10:42pm CST should be tomorrow your time, right...huh?) That international date line stuff...whew!
I have not tried the FAT32 option yet, as I am happy with a 2GB card at this time. You should really pickup a 1GB or 2GB stick as it would hold more movies.
So where are you going?

G'day Lanman, We won AUD$5,000 of flights and $10,000 of peregrine adventure tours, couldn't even afford the departure taxes so had to re-finance the house but it's worth it. Brian and I are going to Lima, Peru to see Machu Picchu site, then on to La Paz, Bolivia. From there we spend 13 days in England with our friends, then we split up and Brian does a bike ride through Vietnam, whilst I go to Egypt, Mt. Sinai, Jordan and Israel. Even though I've already started preparing for the trip it seems like it's not really happening to us, this is something someone else wins :). One of the things I am struggling with is how to keep in contact with my children, I can use wifi on my pda but haven't looked yet how to find hotspots in the various countries. I was going to try and use Ipass but they don't seem to have programs for Palm units. Any suggestions are welcome :)
I went back to the TH55/E a few months ago. I was so excited that I got a 4GB MS and got it to work (via that FAT32 hack). Only to get disappointed later because I can't access the built-in apps (AudioPlayer, Movie Player, Voice Recorder). So I decided to just get a 2GB MS and use the 4GB MS for my Sony Reader.
suemckoy congratulations on the trip! I'm sure you'll enjoy it. As for communicating with your kids, CLIE Mail should be good enough as long as you can access a wifi signal. Just go to Prefs-Network-Wireless LAN, Details, Scan to look for wifi signals.

Joel, thanks very much for your advice. I use Mundu when I am at home and someone else is on the computer, but just mainly wasn't sure whether there were many hotspots in Peru or Bolivia, so will do as you suggested and keep loooking whilst I'm out and about. In the UK I should be fine.
I won the trip from an Australian website http://competitions.ninemsn.com.au/searchworldtour/, and feel incredibly lucky. It's forcing me to do something about my weight and fitness level so I can climb the 3750 steps to the top of Mt. Sinai in the pre-dawn darkness. At the moment I doubt I could do any more than 500 :( Still, we are so lucky to be going in the first place.
Cheers, Sue
