Cannot copy & paste jpeg files from PC to SD card

I can copy the jpeg files from my pc but I cannot paste them into my camera sd card (standard sd card), the "paste" is gray down.
Could you tell me what's wrong?

You might have accidentally moved the write-protect switch of your card.

Thank you for your reply, Joel. But the write-protected switch of my card is still in the right position (the notch is close to the inserting end).
Do I need a sd card reader?

I never tried to move jpegs from a PC to a digital camera. The card reader would be the best solution and not very expensive.
