After reading this site for a few days i decided to take the plunge and purchase a sj-22, my first pda which i am very impressed indeed with! However ive got a few questions i'd like to ask, oh ive also registered on this board however my activation email hasnt come thru yet thats why im posting as unregistered

q1. hotsync - ive installed a few apps via hotsync however i cant find anything where it tells you how to get rid of apps, i installed zlauncher and was using the trashbin but couldnt find anyway of getting rid of apps without using it, also when i then tried sending zlauncher to the trash i was unable too, what am i missing? Also i decided to get rid of all the apps by doing what i belive is a hard reset where it aks you to erase all data, which i did however when i goto hotsync up again it installs everything once again!!! Is there some program list somewhere either on my desktop or my clie which i just cant find?

q2 tips on a suitable app - I brought my clie for my job where i have to take bookings over the phone from customers and was getting inundated with bits of paper everywhere. What applications would u suggest would be best for taking 4 bits of info (name, tel number, date, comment) as fast as possible, would say a scribble program with something like agendus or datebk be best?

thanks for ur time in reading my waffle :)

Welcome!
Well to get rid of apps without using the TrashCan(I don't know why you want to do this), get out of ZLauncher and go to the built in launcher and tap on "menu" and you will see a pop up list with "delete" as one of the choices. I dont use ZLauncher but I think you have to exit this and delete from the built-in Launcher, or get a file manager such as "FileZ"(freeware).
When you do a "hard reset", it will indeed purge your Clie. BUT unless you delete all the files in your backup folder on your PC, your data will be restored. Find this folder under "program files, Sony Handheld and look in the file that has your (user)name.
For quickie note taking, you can try DiddlebugHR or DiddleBug 2.60 by doing a search on www.palmgear.com
You can also search this site for other note taking apps. It will end up a personal preference for you.
Let us know haw you make out.

The new version of ZLauncher (3.01) has a built-in file manager that allows you to delete directly, without using the trashbin.

Always use the default built-in delete from the standard Clie Launcher's pull down menu. I do this to ensure that when an app is delelted, it's deleted, no left over crumbs in most cases. By doing this and treating my Clie similar to standard practices developed on a desktop PC, has kept my Clie running as smooth as a Swiss Watch :)!

Some may argue differently, but I am not new to this game and it works for me. I don't have anywhere near the troubles others have, so I must be doing something right when it comes to the Clie.

I agree with the above...using the built-in delete will do exactly that. I like to use the ZLauncher one for everyday management of files.
