I am having trouble with the skins i downloaded

Hi all......if u could help me....can the sony clie sj22 change background pictures?and I have downloaded some skins and i can't open them.Please help me with this....thanks.......

Are you using a launcher such as Zlauncher or yishow that support backgrounds? If not you will need a program like backdrop for it to work.

1. Go to http://www.zztechs.com/en/zlauncher/download.php4

2. Download Main program "zlauncher.prc". This one is smaller in size, if you want the whole package, you can download the "zlauncher.zip" . It's up to you. But "zlauncher.prc" will do just fine, we're going to download an winxp skin anyway, so you might not need the extra stuff that comes with the whole bundle.

3. Double click on zlauncher.prc once it has been downloaded into your computer.

3. Go to http://honolulu.free.fr/zlauncher/

4. Download zlxp.zip, there are other skins you can try, but I recommend this package as it gives you a lot of backgrounds, an icon pack, and it makes your clie look like an xp.

5. Unzip zlxp.zip into your desktop.

6. You should have 17 files on your desktop, 7 of them are .bmp image files, delete them all. Look for the "ZLT_ZLXP_OS5_64K.prc" file, delte it also. You should now have 9 files left on your desltop. Select them all, and press enter.

7. There should now be 10 files all in all queued in your install tool. Perform a Hotsync.

8. After Hotsyncing, go to unfiled, look for the Zlauncher icon, then tap it! Voila! You now have WinXP skin installed into your clie.

9. Tap on the upper left part of you screen, and a menu should drop down.

10. Go to options, then go to Theme Manager.

11. There are 3 tabs, themes, icons, and back image.

12. Go to the different tabs to change your themes (if you have downloaded more, that is...) you can also change your icon sets, and you can change your backgrounds, if you go to the back image tab, you'll see all you PGPocket pics there, you can just select them and instant wallpaper!!! Remember, your image has to be the right size to display properly, they should be 320X320 resolution.

12. Ther's also many ways to customize zlauncher, so you might try to download the whole package instead, since it contains a manual.

Oh btw, zlauncher is also shareware...30 days trial I think, so buy it if you like it! I did!

Oh , you did mention you had downloaded some skins already right? Assuming that you've already installed those skins into your Clie, you can just ignore steps 4, 5, and 6. Enjoy!

I'm not sure what will happen after 30 days... but I registered mine after a week...:)

For $12, it's also one of the cheapest launchers out there.

when i download this launcher,and when i download some skins frm this site,i cant retrieve them....how do i do that?

Are you asking about the background images? or the skins?

Downloadable skins have a link at the top of the message, when you click it, it takes you to another page where there is a download link, you click it and you download.

Background images on the other hand don't need download links, just right click on the image you want, choose "save as", then save it into your desktop, once it's there, you just use picture gear to conert it to Palm format and hotsync it to your Clie, then just choose it as your back image.
