I need to travel...Does airport x-rays machines are safe for my NX and memory stick

I was wondering if would be save to put my NX thru the x-ray machine or should I removed the memory stick and put it to the side?

I am pretty sure it is safe, I have brought my palm pilot when I had my nr70v and had no probelms, and I know people who bring digital cameras all the time when travelling.

I use air travel regularly with my NX70V/Mem Sticks and digital camera with Compact Flash cards. No problems so far.

Have done this with both my N760 and my NR70V.

They both came out fine.

NX60 and NR70... nothign wrong... even sent 2 128mb ms's through..

So far everyone agreed that is save to pass the NX thru the x-ray machines. Now, does this degrade the memory stick or the unit internal memory lifetime?

i guess the source of your "fears" is the thing that x-rays could have an influance to photofilms. this is because of the light sensitivity of these films and x-ray is a kind of light.

there is no such known reason why this x-ray could damage your electronic toy.

I,ve had the CMOS flash rom wiped on a motherbard that went through cargo x-ray at the airport.

But as long as you carry your NX in handcarry (ie. on you) then it should be fine. I've done it several times now with 128MS and all is still working.

You really can't tell if there is any degredation. If there was, I would imagine you would have to x-ray it several thousand times before anything noticeable happens. Security x-ray machines are pretty low yield.

If a mobile phone and ISO1600 film can take it; I'm sure your NX and MS can too.
