right now i have a zire 71, and i dont have bluetooth, and the bluetooth card isnt supported on mine. the max. sd card i can have is 1gb, which may/may not be enough. i would also like a palm/phone combo. should i get a treo 650 or stay with my zire 71?

OMG!!! Whaaa! This is a question that should have been asked 3-4 years ago :D. At that time yes, it would have been worth it :) Now a days you should go for the 755P. Its just like the 650 except in a better body, brighter screen, and LOOOOOADS more memory :). I would suggest getting a Treo because it is very useful to users because of the keyboard and one handed navigation. Very rarely will you ever use the stylus. Keyboard has some nice shortcuts :).

OUch....oh ok, well than, yah a 650 is still good. Didn't have much of aproblem with mine, except for the small memory but otherwise its a pretty good device. The OS is still the same as the 755P so not really missing out on much.

If the price is right and you simply can't afford better/newer, then I think you will enjoy the connectivity of the 650. You do need an unlimited data plan to fully enjoy the 650. Just remember, it's lack of sufficient RAM will be a constant nag, whereas the 700p has ample RAM.

I have a 650 that I bought from a co-worker. I've had it about a week... it was a Cingular model (I use T-mobile) and I purchased an unlock code the day I got it... it has worked flawlessly... I have a TX and a Sony Th55 PDA as well as a Motorola Q from the Sprint network.... I LOVE the 650... wish I had jumped on board from day one...

I have a Treo 650 and memory is not an issue. I have had it for 2years and I have 11M of internal memory available and a 1gb SD card (with more to come once I reinstall docstogo to my SD card). To maintain my memory I use uninstall and cleanup (Neatfreak pack) as well as filez and cardlaucher. I delete my read emails and moved all my pictures and videos to my SD card. I use googlemaps and it is stored on my card and only called upon when needed. Then back it goes to the card with the help of cleanup. There are plenty of software programs out there to help maintain your memory so you can have a worry free Treo experience.

I'd go for the 650 instead of the 700p...IMHO; it is more stable overall.

As for going Treo from any non-keyboard-PDA, do it right away! The integrated keyboard is more than worth it!
