I want to share my experience in this newsgroup.
Last week, I tried to purchase software called PowerRun from Palmgear.com. Everything went smoothly (I keyed in all the details) until I keyed-in my credit card number.
Palmgear.com gave me a message that my credit card is invalid. This is strange as I have used this credit card many times on other sites with no problem. This card will only expire in 2004.
So I tried again. Again the transaction terminated with Palmgear.com telling me that my credit card is invalid.
After 2 failed attemps, I assumed that no transaction took place. There was no confirmation of transaction, nither on screen nor to my email - only a termination message on screen that my credit card is invalid.
After that, I decided to purchase PowerRun from another website (Handago.com). The transaction was successful the first time I tried it. 10 minutes later I was using PowerRun on my NX90. Very nice sofware !
The shock came a few days later when my credit card was billed by Palmgear.com !@# What an outrage ! I have emailed to their customer services so many times to complain about this. I have supplied all the information that they have asked for. But until today they have not reversed their mistake transaction. I have given up. Seems I lost USD15 just trying to use their online store !
Please be careful when you use Palmgear.com. You may get the same nasty experience as I have, even if you have a valid credit card. I lost USD15 and 30 mins of my time on their websites.

Yes, I have never ordered from them but stories like this will keep it that way - my only question is
Since Kenny West (from PalmGear) frequents this board why did you not leave contact information so he can take care of this for you....would have been better than remaning nameless.

Call your credit card company and dispute the charges.

Exactly. That tends to get a vendor's attention. I waited for two months to have Iambic credit me money for a falsely advertised product (long story...). After I sent them an email stating that I would have my bakc reverse the cc charge, I miraculously got an email THE SAME DAY with my "processed" refund info.
Always good advice...don't pay for what you don't receive. Credit card companies are firm believers that. :)

Yup !! everyone who's had this problem knows that if you have a problem that involves either your credit card or your debit card, that your best option if the offending company refuses to address the problem is to call your card provider, and let THEIR LAWYERS make your complaint known to the offending company !! That's part of what your interest rate on your card is to pay for. Fortunately though, this is not a problem that seems to be to wide spread, but it's up to us to help keep the "problem companies" in check, so that no one has to suffer !! ;)

Ok, I was the one that started this thread as unregistered. Just got myself registered in order to add more news here.
Immediately after my initial posting, I was contacted by Palmgear.com. They assured me that they will reverse the wrong charges.
I waited for a few days - and still the amount is not reversed. So I wrote to them again. They reassured me again that they will take personal action and reverse the amount.
I waited again for a few more days. Again the amount is not reversed. So I sent them another mail. Until today, a few days later, there is no reply from Palmgear.com
Seems that I have to ask my bank to reverse this amount. The problem is, I am working overseas. In order to get a wrong charge reversed from my credit card, I have to go to the bak, fill-in a form. I cannot do this why I am overseas. Faxing the form will probably cause me more than USD15 Palmgear.com has cheated me.
What a mess ! PALMGEAR.COM - YOU ARE A HORIBBLE HORRIBLE ONLINE STORE !!! I hope others will avoid doing business with you. You have given me so much headaches. I regret that I ever visited yr online store. Regret!!!

It's like what I said before, Palmgear has to address the issues and not blame or put the onus on the developers backs! Just like Sony, deaf and dumb to it's customers.

I like how Palmgear puts on a pretty face when they post here. They said they would get it settled right away. Makes you wonder if anything they say is true.

Acoma:
I have a question for you
When you go to the Order Review section in Palmgear do they have any charge there?

I never got to that screen. After I key-in my credit card number, I got a message that said my credit card in not valid. I could not proceed further.

Typing your username and password, you should be able to go to a Order Review section where you can check your past purchases

A few comments here:
I still intend to get this settled. This person has not contacted me following up that the credit never appeared on his card. I can hardly do anything about this if I don't know.
PalmGear does not want your money if you did not get what you intended on paying for.
If you will email me or PM me with your information indentifying yourself and the situation I will be glad to help.
cbulock it seems you only know half the story and have no idea what we do here all day everyday. It is my job to take of these issues and take pride in doing so. If you don't mind me taking this a little personally, what other online vendors take time to do this like PalmGear? None.

In fairness to PalmGear, my experience over the weekend showed that some developers don't have their act together, no names mentioned.
I personally have had no problem with PalmGear nor did I have any reason too. I just feel a little leary, because of some, who have related their issues.
Then some developers have posted saying they haven't been paid in awhile, so that adds more to the confusion. I still don't understand the 2 dollar per download issue, all it did was give me a headache...
How does one determine who is right or wrong??

Jenn of PalmGear
I did not contact you as all my correspondences were with Ms D.Wise. Or do you suggest that I should write these issues to 2 people is PalmGear?
Anyway, after tons of email, lots of headaches, a fews postings is this newsgroup - the wrong transaction has been reversed.
But be sure I would never visit yr online store again. It has been a really painful experience!
