I am currently experiencing an issue with the SMS/Missed Call alert pop-up screen on my Sprint Treo 700p. When receiving an SMS message, an alert pop up appears showing the message, number, etc. like below:

The screen eventually disappears for some reason after a couple of minutes. On occasion, the screen disappears only after a few seconds. I ran a test and hard reset my phone and tested this without any programs on my Treo and the screen does not disappear unless you push the OK, Reply, Call Back or Go To Msg. buttons. I started to restore my apps one by one via RscoBackup to try to find the conflicting program that may be causing this. So far I have been usuccessful. Does anyone else have this issue or can anyone provide some information as to why this may happen? I think it may be a confliction between 2 different applications. Here are a list of the majority of my programs:

DialByPhoto
Butler
TAKEphONE
2day
mLights
mRing
CardReader
CardKeeper
HiLauncher
SubLauncher
Initiate

Any info would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi,
I'd assume that it could be any of the Phone apps, or alternatively any other that draws to the screen.

As a sidenote though, what font are you using? It looks damn cool...

Tam, thanks for the info, however, I was able to discount the following apps:

PhoneDiconnect
mLights
LMreg
CardKeeper
Butler
TAKEphONE
2Dial
DialByPhoto

I removed the above apps and tested it and the screen still disappears. Have you ever noticed if this screen disappears for you?

PS - The font I use for that screen is called "Aklatanic TSO 12pt"
I get all my fonts from www.dafont.com then use the text converter for FontSmoother. I can attach the file for you tonight as I do not have it saved on this PC I am currently using.

Ah ha! I did suspect that Chattermail was causing me problems and slowdowns on the phone. I just hope that Palm will improve Chattermail. Palm does not need another buggy application that screws up the phone and makes it unstable even more than it is now.

When I remove Chattermail from my Treo 680, the phone just reboots... yeah.. I really like that a lot.

Another bad one is mRing 4.0.2 slows down the whole phone, messes up system sound settings for Ringtones and Messages. Combined with Chattermail the Treo 680 gets terribly slow to react to keys, keyguard takes a second to popup, answering calls takes a second or two to happen when pressing ANSWER.

When I remove mRing 4.02, everything runs great. I will try just mRing without Chattermail and see how it runs.

I ran a few days without mRing 4.02 and having Chattermail installed and the phone is fine.

I ran mRing today without Chattermail and the phone is snappy.

When I combine both together on the phone, the phone is sluggish.

That's just terrible. I love mRing and AgendusMail has better IMAP folder support...Chattermail has to go.
