Hey there, I am shortly going to mod my TX with a MIC.
I know which pins to connect the mic to, I have read one or 2 tutorials on the net, but i am wondering, Does anyone have a diagram of what ALL the pins do on the bottom of the TX?
I had a quick look on the net, and couldnt find anything.

The reason i am asking, is that i have a Cradle in my car for the navigation side of things. I also use the cradle to simutaneously charge the TX and play music with a line in to my stereo, from the headphone output of the TX.
What i want to do, is mod the cradle, so i can plug the Line in cable from the stereo to cradle, (as opposed to the headphone output of the TX). This way, i can simply slide the TX into the cradle and have music ready to go.

Any ideas of where to get a schematic? or has anyone successfully reverse engineered the TX Pins, and worked out which does what?
Thanks to all help/suggestions.

_Aaron

http://tamspalm.tamoggemon.com/2006/03/16/external-microphone-for-the-palm-tx/ may be of use. Or not, it depends :p ;)

Good luck,

Found this with a Google search, Palm Connector Pin-out (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Athena_Connector).

For the definitive documentation go to Palm's Developer Network Page (https://pdn.palm.com/regac/pdn/index.jsp). Off to the right is pane labeled "Top Downloads", try to download the link labeled "Palm Developer Guide, Palm OS Platform". This is suppose to be a public download, but currently when I click on it, it asks me to login. Therefore you might have to register as a developer to download it. One of the chapters (I do not recall at the moment) is the definitive documentation for the multi-connector used on the TX and others.

Try this link: http://www.palminfocenter.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=30376

There is a large overlap of the info in that link with what you want to do. Page two has a simple pin diagram that should help you as well.

Be forewarned that not every cable/cradle is going to include the connections you will need to complete your "adapter".
