netfront help

I accidently deleted netfront in powerrun, now when i reinstall it, it doesnt work, no icon, no program, whats the deal?

I managed to do that myself. My solution was to take all of the NetFront files off of the Clie, and then carve myself out the full 6 meg of disk space. Then, I installed the NetFront program from scratch and restored the files I'd moved out to make room for the installer.

Are these the steps you took? I tried doing it without clearing away the 6mg and reinstalling, but that doesn't seem to work.

You have to clear out at least 6-8 MB RAM before NetFront will appear in the launcher after you install it. Then, once it's on there, you'll only need 2 MB to run the browser.

I had this same problem, and mine took about 8.2 MB of free RAM before NetFront decided to pay the launcher a visit. Now, I just keep 7.4 MB RAM free all the time without being cheap about RAM, and whenever I need to uninstall/reinstall NetFront, there's no problem.

if you use MSBACKUP, a hard reset wouldn't be a problem. why the unwillingness?

Thanks for the help everyone. I did not want to do a hard reset because I had swapped different programs between flash & ram and don't remember how I last backed it up. Also, I thought I was just doing something dumb, which abosco & slyboots reminded me of. I cleared out some ram, and install went no problem. thanks again. now I will backup.
