What do you all recommend for file sharing between my WinXP pc and my Palm TX. I have installed WiFile LT which came on the CD and have found it less than adequate. I like SMB Mate much better, but was wondering if there was still an even better option. I own Resco Explorer which has builtin FTP functionality that I haven't taken advantage of. Are there any advantages of setting up an FTP network rather than sticking with SMB Mate (except a lot a extra work). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
FTP and Samba each have their own security issues -- FTP is a little more secure over the internet, and Samba is a bit more reliable and configurable on a private network.
I usually use WiFile for Samba file sharing, or via Bluetooth File Exchange over Mobile Streams Card Reader

Since you have Explorer 2007 and SMBMate, you already have your bases covered in terms of software. If I remember correctly, Explorer will soon sport SMB as well as FTP.
Personally, I use both FTP and SMB to talk with my clie/tx to imac/linux box. In terms of simple transfer back and forth, I can't find any difference, other than it was quite a pain to figure out how to get FTP working properly on my linux box.

Thanks for the news about Explorer, it's good to hear they're going to support Samba. I tried setting up FTP with Filezilla on my WinXP PC, but after 30 minutes of pulling my hair out trying to set it up (not to mention the SourceForge web site was down) I decided to continue using SMB Mate. I didn't see what the advantages of FTP, but wanted to see what your guys thoughts were.
Thanks,
