I am demoing worldmate on my SJ20 and cannot seem to sync to atomic time clock or update weather. The time is not updated when i hotsync although the weather is updated during hotsync. In addition, when I try to update time or weather, I get following message:

Error:Incomplete setup. Please check your network settings.

Then after I hit OK. I get following message:

Could not sync time with an atomic clock. Please check your internet connnection and try again. Error code 4634.

I have checked the update palm and PC time in the Worldmate conduit preferences. Any help or suggestions is appreciated.

Did you just upgrade to version 9.2?

Are you using a firewall or a proxy?

To properly set up you must right click on your HotSync tray icon and choose "Customize." Highlight Worldmate and click on "Change." If you have a proxy/firewall (like at work) this is where you enter your settings. I have not been able to get it to work at my work place due to stringent firewall perameters. It does work very well at home. Here is where you also need to check "Update Palm Time . . . " ;)

I am demoing Ver. 9.2 and I do not have firewall, unless you consider ZoneAlarm a firewall. But I do not think that is the problem b/c when I hot sync, the weather is updated but the time is not. As an experiment, I changed my pc time to 2 hours ahead and my palm time to 1 hour ahead and then did a hot sync to see if the time is adjusted to the correct time and it did not. time on both my pc and palm remained the same even though weather was updated. I have checkmarked the update PC and update Palm time boxes in the conduit.
Any thoughts?

I have the same problem, TWC won't update at work, but no problem at home.  Now I know why.  Thanks for mentioning.

V9.2 said they have improved proxy customization (firewall), but I see no difference in the proxy setup choices. Huhhmmm! :( Cradle atomic time syncing at home works great, but modem syncing with my cell phone jumps the time/date about six weeks "back to the future!" :D Maybe I'll go back to 9.1 and wait for them to get their act straight. They have not responding to several emails. What does it take to get good support these days? I know . . . ZZTech! :D

You might try uninstalling it and reinstalling. Also set the time interval for online updates, in the conduit, to 0, otherwise you have to wait 6,12, or 24 hours to see if it retrieves the correct time. Worldmate doesn't get info every hotsync, unless you have the interval set to 0.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and set update interval to 0, but this didn't work either although I thougt it was a great idea. Its strange that I get weather updates but my PC and Clie time is not updated at all.

I have found that sometimes you have to "nudge" the program to do time sync. Try tapping "Get time" and of course it will error out, but clear the error and then try hotsync again with update interval set to "0."

I found out how to tunnel through my office firewall for getting updates of The Weather Channel, Atomic Time Sync, and Currencies.  Before HotSync, I go to Internet Explorer and check out a website like this one (ClieSource).  The firewall will ask me to enter my account and password before letting me access the world wide web.  Once I'm out there, then I HotSync.  Otherwise, the firewall will deny HotSync access and no updates received.  Did you try that?

Yes, my company firewall runs a script to do proxy. WorldMate does not support script. I have Copernic Agent application (multiple search engine app) that does support firewall script and it was no problem to activate.

It's been over two months since 9.2 came out . . . the version that killed modem time syncing (6 wks off ). MobiMate said they would have a fix upgrade in a week (back in April). A couple of weeks ago I emailed them, got an apology saying they would have 9.2.1 out within a week. It's been over two!

MobiMate . . . you are the pits on customer service!

Does anyone have an alarm problem? After I sync the set alarm no longer sounds. I need to go into the screen and do a test on the alarm and hit the "on" button.

I've asked Mobimate twice and they say to unstall it and reinstall it. This I have done twice with no results.

Any ideas? Seeing Mobimate can't solve the problem.

There are many problems Mobimate cannot solve. # 1 is how to provide customer service and treat customers like they care. Ver. 9.2 released 4/29/03 and they have been telling me the fix for modem time-sync would be out "within a week" ever since that date! So it's been what, 2 1/2 months? It's too bad that behind a really cool product is a sorry support and customer service team! :(
