T3 Buttons not working

Hi,
I have a palm T3 that I have just replaced the batery in and in the process I seem to have damaged something that has made the up button and the datebook button (top left) button stop working. Is this fixable by myself do you think? I'm guessing I've damaged the ribbon somehow.

What options have I got? I suppose I could just replace the bottom part of the T3 but can't find anyone selling a broken T3 on ebay at the mo.

Just as an update - a very kinder poster from Brighthand has offered me a spare slider so it's on it's way now and hopefully will restore my T3 to its former glory! :)
