Does anyone know if Palm used lead-based or lead-free solder in the T5?

If you'r worried about the lead based fumes just make sure you solder in a well ventillated room ;)

Not safety - just wondering as lead solder is now illegal for commercial work unless working on older equipment.

IIRC, the T5 was still being produced after EU ROHS regulations started going into effect... and since it was sold to the EU market, that means those devices could not be manufactured with lead solder. However, I think at that point the ROHS regulations had not fully kicked in, so the T5 might still contain some components that contain lead or mercury.
