Has anyone else had a problem with the hold switch and alarms? Here's what I mean. I carry my Clie NX70V in my front pants pocket, so naturally, I engage the hold switch so it doesn't acidentally turn on or whatever. The problem is, when an alarm goes off, I can't get at the screen to disable it. Do I just have to leave the hold off when I'm expecting an alarm (doesn't that sort of defeat the purpose of alarms?)?

this has been posted before.... you will have to switch hold off before you can turn the screen on................. even when an alarm is running...

If you have the screen closed you really don't need to have the hold switch on. The screen stays off with the clamshell closed.

Yes, however the voice record button can accidentally be turned on. Which sucks if you accidentally record a couple of hours and your battery has run low.

the hold switch is a good feature for when you carry the nx in your pocket. in fact i use it all the time.
there has been times when i have forgotten to put it on hold and ive turned the nx on when in my pocket.
in regards to the hold button and alarms, you can still do it. to disable alarms while the hold button is on all you need to do is press any key on the keyboard and you should be right to go to snooze it or whatever.

That's precisely why I have the hold switch engaged. I believe I did try switching the hold switch to 'off', but it STILL didn't let me turn the unit on.

then press any key on the keyboard and the unit will be fine.
I made a thread on that. You only need to push any button on the keyboard- it's that easy.
