Well almost...

It is actual a Flash file (swf) but a playable movie. Similar format to Time Crisis - 1st person mode, camera moves on a set path, shoot baddies, knives and boxes. Car scene, helicopter scene and roof top shootout. All very well done.

Select easy, medium or hard levels. Space bar reloads your gun. Use your stylus to tap on the baddies to shoot them before they shoot you. I have my NX in tablet mode slightly open so i can insert my left thumb into it and rest it on the space bar. Held horizontally of course.

Fantastic animation and great sound effects in stereo (so play the game with headphones).

If you manage to get to the end of the game you get to see a great movie set on a roof top complete with matrix style camera work with the famous bullet scene from The Matrix.

It runs a little slow on my NX even though I have around 5 meg free ram. You can speed up the gameplay by selecting low (or even medium resolutions). Also play in widescreen (fullscreen ) mode.

You can download the game from here: http://www.xiaoxiaomovie.com/download/xxiao04.zip

PS This site has all the stickman fighting sequences to downlaod for flash player. All in glorious stereo sound (hearing the bullets in the left and right channels individually is great). The best part of these movies are the camera effects: slow motion, mid-air panning and rotation of camera as subject remains motionless in mid-air - all very Matrix like. http://www.xiaoxiaomovie.com

A MUST for all NX owners. A sin not to have them. :-)

PS I am not taking credit for finding these movies. Someone else did mention the site in a Flash thread. I just wanted to bring you all to the attention of the shooting game in particular.

PPS You can rename the files in your favourite file manager to better titles. I use Zlauncher of course. Who doesn't?

I think you had to hit Space on the onscreen keyboard, or just click the bullet container. Just try

oh and it goes into MS:\PALM\PROGRAMS\MMFLASH\

Good isn't it?

So can any NX owners play it at high resolution with good speed? Any tips on how to do this?

Surely the NX processor can't be too inadequate for flash files or Sony would have not included the player with the NX in the first place.

BTW, one of the other swf movies on that site is another interactive playable game. It is a fighting game - man verus pillar. Yeah i know - a pillar. I can't play it coz I don't know what buttons to press. There are many outcomes depending on your actions. I know this because at the end of the movie you can tap on some text which shows you a mini movie of the different outcomes (if you win or lose). So if any bright spark figures out which keys to press to make him fight - please share your findings.

Thanks!

Yes you press space bar on the keyboard of your nx.

This file is in AVI format. And I can't convert to either MQV or Kinoma format.

Any Idea?

Yes, excelent game (usefull for impressing people). Had it pretty much since i got my NX. I find the best way to hold it is almost in tablet mode but with the screen lifted up just enough to slide a thumb to reach the space bar.

Oh, and another interesting feature is that if you shoot people in different parts, they die differently. Try arms, legs, head, stomach. One more thing to try. When you get to the guy throwing the blocks down at you, just shoot the blocks out of the air without shooting him, you can continue for some time like this. Also, most definatly run this in low graphics setting, much faster frame rate.

I started the thread and even I agree about the misleading title :-)

The thing is as soon as I played this game it reminded me of Time Crisis (which I have on PS2). So this is the closest we can get to playing TC or Virtua Cop for that matter on our NXs.

BTW, I figured out how to play the other interactive movies on that site.

To play the Versus Fighting game (like Tekken) - the one where in round 1 you have to fight against a post/pillar, you will see a moving power bar. Press space bar when it reaches the small red dot to win the round and move to the next one. Repeat for the remaining 2 rounds.

There are actually 3 different outcomes per round - a total of nine outcomes. 6 of them are losing moving clips and 3 are winning clips. Enjoyable game just to see the funny losing outcomes.

The other playable flash file where you are in a bar has you repeatedly tapping at the space bar to fight your enemy and progress to the next stage.

Have fun!

Well when you get to this page: http://www.xiaoxiaomovie.com/index02.htm just click on the top right hand corner of the movie you want to download. There should be some japanese text at this corner (well I think it is japanese).

BTW the other 2 games don't have sound - only the shooting game has it :(

I have them all on my NX and they all have sound for me. I like Xiao 7 I await the continuation

Xiao Xiao is actually why I got an NX... in part. I had an SJ33 but when I found out the NX played flash I had to get one! I put a couple of my dumb movies and all 9 xiao xiao's, among other cool stuff. BTW if you search, there are a number of websites that have the first movie (.avi) converted to flash...
Flash is what got me into the NX, but then I realised there is so so so much more that I should have been wanting lol.

Alistar: I downloaded all of them from the site too but two of the movies (games) don't have sound. How comes your ones have sound? Did you download from the same site?

You need the updated flash player library from the TG: http://hansschmucker.free.fr/clie/flashplayerwithmp3supportfromtg/

Thanks so much hans. That did the trick. Had no idea there was an update anyway.

Not sure if I prefer the updated flash player as it adds an extra toolbar at the top so reducing the play area in full mode. Maybe I am just being stupid now.

Thanks again! :)

Gotcha! You didn't read the instructions did you? ;)

You can safely delete the MMFlash file and use the old Flash player version with MP3 sound as long as you leave MMFlashLib in place.

Oh i did read the instructions in the text file. I was just making a point about the negative aspect of the new version. :)

I just thought i was being stupid/fussy over the wasted space at the top pf screen.

All right, all right, but you really can choose. Currently, I have the old interface installed.
