I just picked up T665C at large electronics chain store. It was a return and the price broke my will.
I'd like to know if any company will have an MS > 128MB that will be compatible with T665. Seems MS Pro is not.

I just got a Lexar 128MB stick from ecost.com for $29.99 after rebate (order today to be eligible for rebate). The specs say it's CLIE compatible, but since I do not have the stick I cannot verify that. Several on this forum can though, and most said they've had no problems with this MS.

The best you can do is the Memory Stick select, it's essentially 2 128s on one card, with a switch to "select" between the 2. The MS Pros will not work....

Welcome aboard!

I'm sorry I wasn't clearer in my question. I wanted to know if anyone knew if the newer generation of memory sticks with capacities exceeding 128mb were compatible with older models such as T665. I think there are 256mb...up to 1GB sticks out there now, 32 GB models on the horizon.

No, ms pro is not compatible with the T665.... But like pigburger said,

"The best you can do is the Memory Stick select, it's essentially 2 128s on one card, with a switch to "select" between the 2. The MS Pros will not work.... "

I have this model too... We are out of luck on the MS Pro and our only option for more than 128MB on one stick is the new 128x2 sticks that are available from several vendors. This design incorporates two banks of 128MB of flash that are accessed by a switch... "A" for 128MB and "B" for another 128MB. You still have to remove the stick to flip the switch but you won't have to carry around as many sticks.

I realize that in theory the 128MBx2 sticks are supposed to be compatible, but has anyone actually tried it with a T665C?

I wasn't willing to be a guinea pig this time around.

Thanks,
Jerry

I'll let you know tomorrow...I should have a 128x2 stick waiting for me at home (UPS was supposed to deliver it today) that I plan on using with my T615.

Maybe it will work with T-Series if you reformat the stick from FAT32 to FAT16. Have a look there:

Someone must try it...

Well, I just loaded a whole bunch of music on side A of a 128x2 stick and whole bunch of Mapopolis maps on side B...and it works like a charm! So far no problems reading either "side" of the stick on my 615. Given that it's an older model than the 665, I don't see any reason why the Select shouldn't work in the 665. I've got a whole lot more available space (I've been using a 32 meg stick for maps and a 128 for music), and I only have to have one stick now.

Interesting idea from Lutz about reformatting an MS Pro, but the Select works fine for me.

Great! Now, next question, how much did you pay and from where?

Thanks,
Jerry

I picked it up at eCost (http://www.ecost.com/ecost/shop/detail.asp?dpno=140089) for $79.99 before shipping, but it looks like the price went up a couple of bucks since I ordered it (the page now reads $81.99).

Hi Mastervtec,

I'm not shure, the posting of blackcarrera lets a lot of questions open... See my reply there.
