Hi,
Does anyone know if and how one can use a bluetooth headset with Sony Clie UX50. The A2DP prtocolled Softick Audio Gateway does not seem to work with Sony Clies.
Thanks.

Just got my first Bluetooth Stereo headphones. It's nice listening without a cord! The only thing is that to use with a ux50 or my th55/e1, you have to use the bluetooth dongle like any other audio source.
Basically these devices use Bluetooth v1.0 or maybe 1.1 at best. I think your A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) Bluetooth drivers are going to need v1.2 or probably 2.0 to work. This is your big problem, since Sony quit making these in 2004 you can't even get updated phone drivers, much less any compatibility with newer peripherals!
So make sure your Bluetooth headset comes with a dongle to use with non-BT devices.

Thanks for your response. A pity that sony clie native bluetooth capacities cannot be used :-(
What kind of a dongle will I need. My Bluetooth headset came with a USB one for use in PC USB slots.

i tried to pair my plantronics 645 with ux50.
its useless without softick a2dp audio support, and after installing, you can playback sound via the earphone (using ptunes and tcpmp. not working with internal player).
remember that once thay paired, you wont be able to connect the net, since only bt and wifi cant work together, and bt on ux doesnt support more then one connection at a time.
