Does anyone here know of a good free RSS reader? I've tried many including: AvantGo, Topstory, Smaato news, and a bunch of Java based ones, Newscopier ect. I can't seem to find anything Palm OS based/takes advantage of my TX's full screen/free. I had the first release of Resco News which apparently was free, but it somehow got deleted and when I went to redownload it Resco had released the commercial version. Just hoping any of you had any ideas, thanks.

The free version is still available on the Resco Neeews download page.

I have to agree, REsco Neeews is simply the best (Love making my Treo my podcast manager now :)) Also the ability to add custom icons makes it look very good.

Great! Resco Neeews is great. I'm surprised, the free version has more than I'll ever use  The only thing I wanted was the podcasts, and it's all there.
What does the full version have that the free version doesn't?

Well, Resco Neeews is surely a nicely made RSS reader. But, besides iambic having a new free RSS reader supposedly as well, you should also try QuickNews form standalone.
Besides personal preferences with the "look&feel" of those readers, these are the main differences among them (havenīt tried the iambic thingo yet), which made me choose Quicknews over Neeews:
1. QuickNews is able to sync feeds over hotsync, which might - depending on the device youīre intending to use it on and on the amount of news youīre geting - come in quite handy. I do get over 80 MB on mondays, and I wouldnīt like to pay that to my cellphone provider. Other that that my TX sits in his cradle all day long and can easily update itīs feeds automatically. Since QuickNews allows for a different per-feed update setting for wireless and hotsync updates I donīt even have to change a thing whenever I decide to update wirelessly.
2. I really donīt like the newspaper concept that Neews proposes. I admit that I tried it a lot since it sounded like a very good idea. BUT itīs inconsistent, because itīs designed to manage feeds that somewhat belong to each other (which is fine), but doesnīt let you configure the update frequency per feed, only per newspaper (or did they change that in the meantime?). I just might have feeds that belong to another - like īnewsī- but for which I just might want to have different update frequencies (like i.e. for video-podcasts, which I only would like to get when connected to my PC, but that leads to #1 above).
QuickNews has itīs shortcomings as well, but those two points have been the main reason for me.

FYI Topstory is Smaato news with the icons changed (a real disappointment).

At first it took a while for me to get used to the news concept and while its true that you can only adjust the amount of update per newspaper, not per feed I went ahead and made each newspaper personalized, I have one for 1Src news, 1Src podcast, Treocast, 1upYours, Buzzoutloud, etc. Then I just went ahead and made 2 newspaper, one for podcast, and one for rss news feeds :) each update for the last 24hours so I won't miss too much.

QuickNews is an incredibly well written program. Tried it out when it was first released, and it had that whole zen of Palm feel to it :)
Not tried Resco's one, but their Explorer program is pretty swanky so if its even half as good, Neews should be a decent app too :)
I was using iSilo as a quasi-RSS reader for a while, but I never read the damned things so it's been left by the wayside...

You can also use Google Reader Moble edition, or Bloglines Mobile edition. I find thie better, that way I can read the news on my mobile or my PC.
