Hello!
I've accidentally deleted a user profile on my Tungsten's desktop computer software. We lost all of that user's personal data, like the calender and address book.
The Palm Help software says that deleted info is lost forever, but I wonder if any gurus out there could suggest some tips on retrieving deleted data.
Thanks for reading.

Restore it from the trash.
-=OR=-
set the conduits to handheld overwrites desktop and sync
Make sure you run a backup on the PDA first.

The stuff should still be on your desktop, technically.
I used sth on u3 called "recover Lost Data" (go figure) It will generate a huge list, but you should find the files in your C:/Program Files/Palm/<HS name>/<PIM>/"
I know that was discreet but... I don't know your whole situation. just try the shareware version of the sw here: http://www.download.com/Recover-Lost-Data/3000-2248_4-10678837.html (not the u3 version.)
EDIT: looks like josser beat me! That would work... I am so tired it aint even funny. IT's amazing I forget about that little trash bin.

I just performed an experiment on my desktop. I had two users defined in Palm Desktop, mine and the Simulator. I validated that there was a data directory for the Simulator in the Palm directory (C:\Program Files\Palm\Simula). Using the Palm Desktop, I deleted the Simulator user. I then checked for the Simula directory; the directory no longer exists. I checked the Recycle bin; the directory was not there. Therefore simple recovery techniques will not work. Now some undelete utility (possibly was phrekonaleash mentioned) may be able to find and undelete the data user data directory for your user. If you can get that far, return and we may be able to instruct you on getting the desktop to re-acknowledge the deleted data directory.

Thanks for the recommendation for the software download, phreakonaleash
I've DL'ed the application and I've run it, but I'm unsure what file I should be looking for to recover. The application recovered an enormous amount of files. Specifically, it's the datebook file for this user that I'm after.
Any suggestions?

Specifically, it's the datebook file for this user that I'm after. You should be looking for a file called 'datebook.dat' in the 'datebook' directory off of the user's data directory that was deleted off of the Palm data directory (typically C:\Program Files\Palm). The user data directory is a shortened version of the device's Hotsync name (e.g. A device called 'John Smith' might have a data directory called 'SmithJ').

Hi potter,
Thanks for taking the time out to assist me, I really appreciate it.
I've ran the application, however no datebook files were recovered. Any other thoughts?
