I recenty switched over from the windows mobile platform to the palm platform and am so glad i made the move. i find palm so much more functional and user friendly.
I have already installed loads of apps and cant wait to get more on there to show off to all my colleagues..
One thing i discovered when searching for software was that M:Panel have recently launched for the Palm OS.
This is a pretty cool app that also gives you the opportunity to win a 52inch plasma when you download it...(all names in a hat i guess)..It also allows you to help contribute to new Palm apps and features that may appear on future handsets.
You can read more about it on the M:Panel (http://www.mobilepanel.com) website.
definately worth checking out..
Thanks and if anyone has good recommendations for software i would love to hear them.

So this is spyware for the Treo? And you have to download it and install it yourself?
What M:Panel does. Proceed with caution:
"DATA TRANSMITTED AND COLLECTED BY THE SERVICE
The Smart M:Panel software records and collects participants' mobile phone data usage. This may include messaging services, mobile web browsing activity, usage and titles of downloaded applications and files as well as usage of cameras, video streaming and other utilities on the mobile device. The software may also collect information regarding the web pages you view, the links you access, and usage times for certain device activities (e.g. text messaging, call lengths, and web browsing). We may also collect technical information about the device (e.g. number of games loaded, number of custom ringtones available, and operating system versions). Toward that end, we may also collect information about phone ownership, mobile phone services provider names and mobile phone models, usage of various mobile phone features, and opinions and attitudes related to all of the above. We do not collect or view text or other content in personal files including text, email or instant messages, image files either downloaded or captured via camera phones, contact or address book entries saved on the phone, or calendar entries.
Your registration data and other information about you is subject to our Privacy Statement, which is available at http://www.mobilepanel.com/terms.aspx."
'Finally launched' sounds like this was highly anticipated by the user above. Yeah right. I think this is spam from someone affiliated with M:Panel.

Definitely sounds like "sneaky spam" to me. It's bad enough when someone spams a message board & even lower when someone poses as "a happy user" of the product, just trying to enlighten us all.
So....out of curiosity, OP, what "loads of apps" have you downloaded to your Palm OS device? And which device do you have?
Actually, M:Panel could be extremely useful... IF I was the recipient of all that data, and not some third party. I'd love to have my phone email me daily reports on usage. It would even double as a security measure if the phone was stolen.
As far as the sneaky spam goes:
I have a "callback policy" in place for phone and email spam -- if the person really wants my business, they must provide me with a name and contact number where I can call them back at my convenience. It must be a number where I can talk to a person, not a voice message system.
As far as product pumping goes, the first step is to see if the original poster will post a second time in response to questions. If they don't, it's an obvious pump. If they do, they might still be a professional pumper, but at least they're not using the shotgun approach.

I deleted the same post from PalmZone's forums. It's always suspicious when someone's first post is essentially an ad for a program, and the "opportunity to win a 52-inch plasma" really made it sound spammy.
(It isn't as bad as a spam I saw on another forum--one of those typical cellphone-sales spams, followed by a post from the SAME user posing as a satisfied customer of the spammer!)
