Doesn't appear so, I had no problems with V3BHack 0.5 and the previous version of ZL. Since installing the 3.10b, I still haven't seen any problem. I never used V3BHack 0.3.

i registered ZLauncher through Handango last month, - when going to handango, even Palmgear or ZZTechs, - theres only v3.01b...

How do i get this updated version or do i have to purchase it again (?!) Are ZLauncher's updates free?

Updates to ZL are free. This version is a beta version only sent to those they have selected to beta test it. The final release usually follows pretty quickly, since ZZTechs rarely has any major problems in their beta versions of ZLauncher.

First of all thanks for this quick resonse!!! How do i get informed about updates? Do i get them from handango or ZZTechs, or do i have to search day by day for new versions?

I registeres some apps at Palmgear (YiShow/Agendus/SilverScreen/MegaLauncher/BtToggle/... )*aargh* but for YiShow i got an uid and password to download the latest build but not for the other apps, - and never receive mails for new versions :o(

Lucky that updates are free, - would be shocked if ZZTechs handle it like iambic and their Agendus...

When using left mode, 2 x 13, I'm seeing icon title overlapping some of my bigger icons . . . before I let ZZTech know, is anybody else seeing anything like this?

Yes, its really great, - but its very hard to find themes/skins that run on my Tungsten :o(, - even if the resolution and color-depths is as my old T675...

ZZTech mails out their beta. You won't find them for download. All you have to do is email them and ask to be a beta tester. They won't respond to your email (usually) but you should just get the next beta release.

Seriously though, the quys at ZZTECH are amazing. Got my beta today and it seems ROCK SOLID as normal.

The latest skins will work as well without any updates.

I just went to bottom bar setup. And I've lost my top bar.... Topbar is now just a white stripe....????

Yup everytime I go to bottom bar setup, I lose my Topbar.

I can get my topbar back by turning off toggle top bar in topbar setup..... Hmmmm

ZZTech has always emailed me about updates. If they have your current email address, they will also email you, I'm sure. It will also be discussed here, or you can periodically check ZZTechs web site.

I haven't had that problem, but I don't have a top bar toggle arrow anymore. It toggles, as long as the box is checked in the top bar setup, but the arrow is invisible.

OK, here come three screenshots. Don't panic if you can't see them in first place. The mods might need to approve them.

This screen shows the big (standard) icons. You can align the icons left, center or right - or not at all of course. The setup is quite easy. You also define the icons per colums (3 in this sample) and the number rows which should be displayed on the screen (3 in this sample). If there would have been a 10th icon in the tab, zLauncher would have displayed a scrollbar but no additional row of icons! Of course the scrollbar would take you to the 10th icon then.

Here's the list view. Settings in the sample: 1 column, 6 rows. There is some room for improvements as the program names get truncated whereas there would be enough space to show them complete.

IMHO the alignment option is great as it gives you the option to use all kinds of wallpapers (even quite colorfull ones) and just use some white space or gradient to white for proper display of your icons

What I would like to see in the final or perhaps in future releases:

> possibility to also set a top margin and a side margin in the form of a number of pixels. this margin could help to i.e. center some icons also vertically. IMHO there should be some more space between the top bar and the icons.

sounds great. I switched to z from yishow cause of the CF driver, but really miss pulling my icons to the left so i can have pic of my hot wife on the right.

Great beta but I am having one issue. The quicklaunch is slow to appear. It takes almost 4 seconds to appear after tapping on the button or holding the back button. Before this beta, it appeared almost instantly.

I have an NR70V.

with 3.10 you should be able to see your wife again ;-) the only thing is that currently there is no top margin, so the icons are still kind of glued to the top bar. but once so set 2 or 3 colums and align them left there should be enough space.

you may get the beta from zztechs if you send them a mail; as they are in holidays beginning of may i would say we might need to wait for the final till the middle of may. but the beta works without any problem on my nx.

Your not crazy, I went to bottom bar setup, didn't change anything and now my top bar is a white stripe. Plus, it doens't even work. I've exited ZLauncher and reopened, it came back, went back to bottom bar setup and now the top bar is gone again. After trying it a few times, it seems to only do that when the bottom bar is hidden.

Unfortunatly, the icon alignment on a low res device just look way too scrunched up and way too closed together. Some of the icons overlap other icons while some icons overlap the scroll bar. Just way too buggy when trying to use the icon alignment. Ne one else here with a low res device have similair problems?
I e-mailed Zlauncher about it, hope they are able to fix things up.

the ZLauncher beta tests are closed betas so there is no link to download it from. However, they have a pretty open policy as far as their beta list is concerned so you can probably shoot them an email [zlauncher@zztechs.com] and you will be added. Be patient though as the only conformation that you were added is when you receive the next beta which won't be until at least May 6th.

zzTechs should be aware of that. was requested by a lot of people I think. still might take a while as it would IMHO take a lot of work to incorporate that in the current version. the icon settings would need to go as submenu into the tab settings. i myself would like to be even able to set different wallpapers/background colors for different tabs.

I cannot duplicate the white band replacing the top bar, but there are definitely refresh issues with the top bar. Whenever the bottom bar setup screen is displayed and closed, a hidden top bar is actually activated even though it may not be displayed. The text displays (e.g., memory, card space, etc.) are displayed in place over whatever is supposed to be there (tabs, app icons) , but the icons and category are not. However, tap on a spot where a top bar icon would be and its function would be executed as if the top bar were in view.

I already emailed this one to ZZTechs. It's related to a refresh bug from 3.01 they fixed in this beta.

I discovered the cause of my invisible top bar toggle arrow. Somehow I had reverted back to an older Aquawood skin. Installing the latest Aquawood skin solved it.

I think I now know what Yellowrose was talking about with the text running over the icons. It does occur on my NR also. Apparently a spacing issue.

One other small change in this version is that if you have the text/graphic display of memory, it displays it in KB now. If you have pure text, it still displays it as MB.

Just wondered if you can now view how much space is left on the CF Card. I noticed in 3.01 that if I mask the MS that you don't see how much room is left on the CF Card.

I still have the white bar problem. I have both of the new versions of Poly and CopperDeck.

If the bottom bar is hidden then I get the white stripe. If the Bottom bar is NOT hidden there is no problem.... What?

You know, there was one cool thing I really liked about LauncherX (WHO THREW THAT ROTTEN TOMATO???).

I liked that all the new apps I installed went to my main screen instead of landing in unfiled.

I finally figured out how to change that. I renamed my 'unfiled' to 'Main' . . . ZL still sees it as 'unfiled' . . . I have my most used apps there, and all my new apps go there, so they're easy to get to. Of course, most usually get filed elsewhere (an app has to work REALLY hard to be permanent on my main tab!), but I still thought it was neat.

I actually have that happen with the Reset Emulator icon in v3.01.

Some icons are larger than standard size and do overlap the text. The built-in launcher, at least on my NR70V, cuts off the bottom of those icons so that they display standard size. ZLauncher does not.

I'm having a problem changing the tab icons on mine. If I go to the tab icon selector screen and select any of them, it automatically goes to the null icon and can't be changed. It holds previously selected icons just fine as long as you don't try to change them. Any one else seeing this?

For those that get the icon problem, all you have to do is restore the ZLauncherDB file from your backup.

I can confirm a problem with Quicklaunch as well. It takes 2-3 seconds to pop up; it was instantaneous in v3.01. I have alerted ZZTECHS

Naaah, the UI wouldn't even need to be changed.  Any changes to the tab, such as row/col or fonts, would only affect the current tab.  Change tabs and it loads the new values into the property page!  As far as storing it, they would probably have to add a new DB file, indexed by tab.

i thought the guys from zztechs would be in holiday? well whatever, i just found beta 2 in the mail. hopefully it will deal with the tab-icon-issue. that was the only strange thing i encountered on mx.

I started a new thread for the new beta to help ZZTechs find the inputs more easily. Looks like the top bar issues have been fixed.
